chinese hinoki is something like JUNIPER
I bought one day TUTTLE hinoki carbon for 10 $, and it was juniper + carbon+ kiri
so I searched that information about that material and rest is history.
I think every chinese hinoki is made from juniper.

Yeah that’s possible.

Yellow cedar/Alaska is also sometimes used as a substitute for hinoki

Juniper is 10 years old so it would be cheaper than a lot of hinoki
