Some people, Adam Bobrow leading them, think Europe is the second continent when it comes to TT. That's completely the opposite, there's way more density in Europe, if you look at the top50, the majority of them play in TTBL1 or Pro A, even some south koreans, chinese or japanese players. Tomo, the ATTC 2024 champion, has been defeated by 2 Pro A players in a row. Just saying.
Might be true if not for China

How the hell did that happen??
Like, who'd have thought that current form was actually a good predictor for a result 🙄
Wow, Calderano was his free flowing self tonight, great to watch when he's like that. Taught the kid a lesson.
I was impressed with Walther too, hadn't seen him before but he made short work of Robles.
I don't think Quadri will make him look OB player!
On current form I'll name WCQ as my dark horse for the title.
I think he's back with a point to prove
Not me, clearly 😂

Well seems Team China is as vulnerable as it never has been for a long time. I don't know what suddenly happened to WCQ. But high likely we will have another none Chinese winner
It looks like Thiem, with different circumstances. Thiem lost his fighting spirit when he won US Open. Goal of its life, no need to fight anymore, he never reached the top again.

He was and is still no.1 due to ranking but he didn't win grand slam and the olympics. So there should be still sth. for him to fight for but maybe it's really psychologically. He always looks very tired and can't imagine the pressure on him with FZD and ML absent.

Remind us what Wang won to make this analogy work...

His personal coach has probably continued to abuse him. I will let them figure it out, my opinion is that he needs more adaptations and techniques, but Kallberg is really strong, it is easy to overlook how perfectly he played, Ma Long couldn't have done much better. China is so not used to dropping the ball short and then having it redropped against them or annihilated on the next shot.

Well you are Wrong!!!!!! 😜
Wow this is really crazy. 3-0, cant even get past 6 after the 1st game ? I'm a WCQ doubter since day 1 but can't ever see such a dominating 3-0.
I don't think this has happened to a top CNT player before right ? The team B folks yes, but never the team A players in the last ~30 years - they might sometimes lose to a lower ranked foreign player, but then bounce back almost immediately in the next 1-2 tournaments. WCQ however ... It's been like 5 tournaments, he got rest and such too but still losing so badly. Yea you could say injuries and fatigue whatnot, but FZD/ML/ZJK has also played through them and still win at the Slams.
@Tony's Table Tennis posted a video of WCQ losing 19 points in a row against ZQH 2,3 years ago - it's happening to him in a large scale fashion this time ... 5,6 big tournaments in a row where he can't make it past R32/R16. Wonder if he could ever come back to top form now honestly... I personally think he doesn't have it takes to win a WTTC/Olympic medal ever.

Ma Long’s variety is far greater than WCQ’s. Perhaps, he also would have lost but not in straight games

He trained under the same Coach as ZJK I believe and it was well known that Xiao Zhan has a very strict traning regiment, also leading to ZJKs injuries. I hope it's not the case with WCQ. Although Anton playes well but WCQ also just played so many balls over the table or in the net. It feels like he read the spin wrong and very unusual for a player of his level.
