Li Hechen is the real deal, he entered the Matrix with Sora on so many points it was spellbinding to see them playing in bullet time. With a better draw he could definitely have gone further. Looking forward to his future, i can see why there is a lot of confidence about the C team prospects for national glory in the future.

Yeah he played well, started off too far from the table, but got better once he moved closer. Needs to work on placement though. He's got the speed and technique but that's not gonna be enough against top level players. Also needs better service receives but that's normal with his experience level.

How about Sora though? Dude's been playing like the top Japanese lately, really stepping it up!

it is good for getting CNT juniors out to play internationals early. I questions why they don't do enough of it a long time ago.

10 to 20 years ago, only a selective few comes out.
Now, they out in the dozens and the earlier they get exposed to international play, the better.
Of course, they will also get figured out, but you need to weigh experience or hidden secret.
And with what I have seen, experience is way more important - unless you are like those PRK hidden secret and just come out and get medals every 2 to 4 years.

You folks are getting ahead of yourself.

Both Uda and Matsushima have suffered 2 early exits against players that they should've won so far this year. Uda actually faced far more top-10 players (in bold below) and pretty much lost to them only. While being lower-ranked, WCT took out CSM, CDS, Uda and barely lost to Shinozuka at WTT SCT Doha 2025.

LYJ dropped out of top-10 at Asian Cup 2025 and WTT CS Incheon 2025, and Matsushima lost really bad both times.

As I posted, Uda had a leg cramp during the T.League playoff final and many of the JNT players came right off the league playoff. I made it clear in the thread for WTT CS Chennai 2025 that many of them were excused. Togami losing in R32 here reinforces my stance that he made the right choice skipping Chennai. Matsushima losing to a European player right after his bold claim doesn't help his case. They are all pots and kettles at this moment in time.

Kihara is still working out something. I think her overall play even in doubles reflects this.

they sighed very heavily in the R16
don't want to enter the TTD retirement list.
but i'm not sure if QF still counts... I guess they all need to win to be save.

btw. I know some Taiwanese players pulled out, after hearing of travel alerts in Tunisia
