Other than hardcore ML and ZJK fans, nobody gives a f*ck about who tops the other one.

You're good at collecting stats but your facts tend to go pseudo-factual when ML is involved. Anyway, bye bye.

Actually I'm agree with these phrases . Lets enjoy table tennis more without this kind of quarell's . Unfortunately in china fans are fighting with each other almost every day but I my self dont want to have this bad energy here . And I'm sure u r not a hard core zjk or ml fan and some of your talks were unbiased in comparison with some of ma long chinese fans . Fortunately TTD forum members are pro and knows what's wrong and whats right about a player ...

Allright. Guys, the discussion about ML is over for this thread. ML was not at Qatar. No more about ML. Same for ZJK.

Feel free to talk about stuff that happened at Qatar.
Reasonable. But remember it is the unfair comparison of LGY and young ML or ZJK that caught me and it is not me to bring in WH, JO Walnder, Hao Shuai, etc, who are more irrelevant.
BTW, didn't the ITTF anchor ask Hugo Calderano how he felt defeating WR #1 ML, who was actually not at Qatar Open?

PS, I am pretty sure that many people on this forum know that ML will not have his second WTTC singles title in the future by any chance.

Seriously, you have no clue what you're talking about. Just let it go and do some research.

LGY, currently 23, is clearly better than the 23 y.-o. ML.

ML, currently 29(?), is clearly better than LGY.

LGY tends to choke. ML was good at choking too. So was Hao Shuai. Leave it to time and LGY to figure out what he can or cannot achieve.

Other than hardcore ML and ZJK fans, nobody gives a f*ck about who tops the other one. I think the rest of us just enjoyed watching two awesome players.

You're good at collecting stats but your facts tend to go pseudo-factual when ML is involved. Anyway, bye bye.

Overall the Qatar Open produced some interesting results in the singles events, but I have to say that I generally dislike tournaments like the Qatar or Kuwait Open, simply because these people do not care about tt at all. For the players these tournaments might be important because of the money involved, but it is not always a pleasure to witness - almost no spectators, funeral-like atmosphere, which is why I am looking forward to the German Open later this month.

BTW (and with all due respect, Carl):

but ma long after many bronze collections fortunately did and no one knows maybe he will have his 2nd too ....

PS, I am pretty sure that many people on this forum know that ML will not have his second WTTC singles title in the future by any chance.

...As far as I know ML is already a two-time World Champion in the singles event (2015 vs. FB and 2017 vs. FZD), no...

Hopefully you got my dry humor...

For this Qatar Open, I wondered why the winner prize was changed from a golden sailboat to a golden globe. The golden sailboats have been around for quite a few years.

from what everybody's opinion and knowledge , we learn a lot about table tennis. No harm to give your opinion but don,t get upset or don,t attack, or don,t give any rude reply. Be polite to answer , be nice to accept and discuss.

Nonsense rain. You brought up ML and someone said that your litany about ML was totally irrelevant. You started the ML stuff. My guess is that the foolish comment about LGY being compared to ML was aimed at getting under your skin for the fact that you did bring ML up.

In looking through the comments, you started it. Now you need to end it. No trying to give excuses. End it.

That HC had a pretty solid tournament and then ran into a FZD buzz saw is probably more on topic. That HC presented FZD with a few problems that it took him a little while to sort out is more on topic.

ML's legacy, and a propaganda presentation, leave it for a thread where that is part of the subject matter. Clearly you are a valuable member of the forum. Clearly there are people who like the info you present. But clearly there are others you rub the wrong way. And it is worth you seeing how you actually initiated the silliness in this thread.

But it does seem others also want to continue it too.

Tired of this kind of accusation, again and again. Do I need to give you the posts # to see who started first?

No...this is good. I don't need another forum like HKTTF, where people couldn't care less, much less for being angry at each other. We need anger. We need hate. We need bias. Those are the basic ingredients for strong opinions. It gives the forum a character.

This response is so out of proportion to what was said:

Screen Shot 2018-03-12 at 5.56.51 AM.jpg

That it led to this comment:

And what followed was you getting trolled by someone. And you had obviously gotten under tabon's skin when he started those trolling comments.

Sorry. I do think you should read NL's comment. I think how he presented the subject of ML was totally fine. And totally different than what ensued from your jumping on the subject.

I disagree talbon's comparison in post #241, which even my "haters" disagree in #297 and #299. I listed the trivia facts to talbon, all about aged-related performance comparison, in #275. Apparently he did not accept and after throwing more irrelevant names, not to mention his tones, he reached his conclusions in post #293 and blamed me of abusing stats which I did not. Sure, he can disagree with my opinion. He can have his brilliant opinion which a lot of people disagree in #293. But is it hard to accept the facts/numbers/stats? Is it hard to ask if one has any doubt before saying others are manipulating facts/stats?

Going back to the final, I think Hugo didn't play bad at all. He wasn't destroyed whatsoever although 4:0 sounds like it. But no, as Ping fun pointed out, there was some slight hesitation on short fh - true, some missed bananas, some overkills ...
FZD was just more sure of himself towards the ends of sets. Hugo disrupted his rhythm for sure too. I hope he will be present more often in the WT quarters, semis and finals.

I think the first two games started with FZD letting Hugo play table tennis. The difference between both players is that FZD knows what it is like to play Ma Long on a regular basis and when the matches got tight, he basically played Calderano like Ma Long used to play FZD. With Calderano, the raw tools are there, the question is what his path to getting those skills is.

He doesn't have Ma Long or Xu Xin to push him in training.

Yep, yep ... true.
Actually I was thinking about creating a thread, that top European players should practice together on a regular basis. China does it all the time and Europe is behind on that matter. How are we going to challenge those dominant players if we don't work together?
