how much would it cost per person to train there?
its all relative to your level and what place I place you at.
you expectation on accommodation, training / coaching etc
I do not have a 1 price fit all, hence I advertise it on my website as tailor made package.
but in general, our pricing is way cheaper than China

so going to have number 34 and number 35 confirmed soon.
for the September travelers, most of the plane tickets have been bought.

also have some challenges where international competition surprises - like the late announcement of Youth Smash in Beijing and the calling up of reserves and making adjustments.

managing schedules is not easy, and I need to do 35 of them.

I have had requests from Italy and Turkey too.
just don't have enough players at the moment.

They should make more kids ))
Instead waste time on forum Toni should explain to his wife Taiwan need more players )))
Army of little Tonys 🤣

I'm still highly confused how there is no league tbh. So there is no association that says let's do something locally before everyone has no future for the sport or move overseas? How do you retain the people that learn the sport?

Maybe it's time to start a tony league 😂 I'm pretty sure that is a huge hassle as well, because of regulations.

its politics
some people want, some people don't want, and they tried to start and the other side push for it to stop.
so cut the long story short, there has been no progress after few attempts to get it going.

It is mostly the older ones that said no and the younger ones said yes. so short answer is "power struggle"

and not joking but, I am involved trying to get a league in Taiwan started, if we can't have a Taiwanese league, we are trying to be involved in another countries league in Taiwan - I have already had talks with 2 countries about it, but this will still take time and a huge hassle to over come. So until then, our players going out is way easier and I am running out of players and same time Koreans and Japanese players has heard that I am offering such services and asking me to help them too.

Taiwan does have a huge TT population market, and there is money for leagues, especially fan culture has also kicked off. Luckily, my stance within Taiwan is that i'm a neutral party - friends with all sides.
So, when I go and watch matches, I can't cheer for one side, as I could upset the other side 🤣🤣

Change the thread name to be more relevant now.

so recently, been pairing sparing partners for 2 women players inside WR50.

one of them wanted right handed womens, and I notice for that time, I had 5 lefties available and no righthanders.
most people want lefties.
haha

any ways, my services is going beyond the Taiwans, and Korea + Japan + China.
The core of what I am doing is making friends through table tennis and where we can all help each other.

Just got a report back of one of my players that is debuting in the 2nd Bundesliga Germany this weekend.
he went early to Germany to train, and get used to various European styles (his last international as a junior was 1 year ago)

entered him in a Challenger Series tournament, I didn't spot many 2300+ TTR players ,but there are still many with good experience.

His first match, he lost 3-0.
He had to wake up and face the reality.
I am glad he won his other 6 group matches
won his semi final and won the final.

9 matches in the space of 1 and half day is not easy, but the over 700 Euro (after tax) prize money was his first big income from playing table tennis and just made the hard work extra rewarding.

on paper he is TTR2330, new friends he met said he is 2400 level.
I told him don't let that get into his head, and he need to focus on his debut weekend against Saarbrücken II (very tough match) and Mainz this weekend.
Due to his TTR, he would likely play low (3~4), and I told him to study the low of the two teams and prepare as much as possible.

He was about to retire from table tennis, until I convinced him to take a trip and see what he can do.
Let's hope he comes back next year and continues a pro table tennis career.

His results:
player name, Chen Yi-Teng (turning 19 next month)

Tony, does he get his room and board paid for in Germany?

700 Euro is not a lot of money. But that amount of money will go a long way in Taiwan where food is very cheap and affordable.

I am so happy you were able to convince him and prolong his table tennis career. :)

His expenses like accommodation, 3 meals, training and travel (airplane, trains etc) is all covered by his club.
He also gets match fee/win bonuses from the club during league matches.

700 euro isnt really about how long it can last(even if it was half, it has a big meaning), because prior to this, he didnt really get win bonuses, or what I call he was an “amateur” table tennis player. As professionals get rewarded financial and this trip is him having a taste on being a professional table tennis player 😊

Thank you. I actually spoke to him a few times and convinced him that he is still young (he finish high school in June and our conversation was around May-July) and that he should try out leagues and see after the first season.
One part of it is he is a good kid, and who doesn’t want to help good kids out. Glad its been a good start and I told him, his career is now in his hands.

Surprised Edouard, joined. I have to watch that. Edouard is French-Filipino but representing the Philippines internationally.
I believe he trains at Metz, France.
Its not uncommon for players to travel to the regions "prize money" tournaments to get some extra income + match experience.

The distance from Metz and Challenger Series is only a 4-5 hour train journey

Thanks Tony.
Recently Jann Nayre has been playing some WTT tournaments, and playing in leagues in Netherlands and Germany. J.R. Misal is playing in indonesia right now I believe. In singles the best finish of the Philippines is Richard Gonzales in 2015, losing 2-3 to Gao Ning who was then WR 15 in the SouthEastAsian Games. Other than that, nothing really notable in our country.
Only good news I'd think would be the numerous table tennis centers/clubs that have been sprouting up in the last 3-4 years here all the Robinson's and SM Malls starting adding table tennis centers which is good to grow the sport. Hoping to strike it rich soon and have time and money to train in Taiwan or somewhere, and will bring a few people along with me that I'll sponsor.

So both of my Pro A womens players are arriving in France tomorrow.
Zion Lee of Korea is coming over from Turkey.
She got knocked out by home favorite Sibel in the semi final. Sibel a friend of mine too, is a strong opponent especially at home.

Zion will be playing for Quimper Cornouaille and opponent will be ANMTT

Kotomi Omoda is flying in from Japan, but I am 100% sure she will walk out into that arrival hall with a big smile.
She will be playing for Le Mans and home match against Metz

while both of them are having they debut in Pro A, it is mine too :)
The mens will only play a bit later, so ladies first!

I'm sure you will agree tt circle is very small and all it takes is a chain and then you can know a lot of people :)

I was at a big tournament on Sunday. My club mate joked that I have played half of the participants and I told him he is exaggerating, but then I started counting 😅
