The ITTF has published the new world rankings! These were released on November, 1st 2017 and it’s caused some major changes.
The new ranking list doesn't include players that have been inactive in ITTF competition for a period of 4 months+.

The new ranking changes have created huge changes for both the men’s and women’s world ranking lists. Most noticeably in the men’s the previous month’s World number 3 Xu Xin and world number 6 Zhang Jike are now off the list. This puts Dimitrij Ovtcharov at number 3, Timo Boll at number 4, Koki Niwa at number 5 and Simon Gauzy flies into the world top 10 with an incredible career high world ranking of 8!
