On Chinese social media, the most plausible reason for firing LGL is simply the crazy head chief of GAS doing all crazy stunts and calling it reform. In China, when somebody claims a reform is needed, it's always about someone trying to create an illusion that one official is brilliantly reforming and this reform works. There is another hearsay, Gou was trying to take CZH off Cai's position, LGL was a side victim due to close relation with Cai.
No gamble rumor about LGL so far.

A lawyer named Hao Jinsong sent an official legal letter to the general administration of sports, requesting GAS to release detailed reason why LGL was removed from head coach position. As normal legal process, if there is no formal answer from GAS, this lawyer could take it to the court and sue GAS. Let's see what reaction we would get from gov.

i haven't posted much due to my travels

based on this and under normal chinese regime, that lawyer could be "forced" to retract his case or he can potentially be arrested with false evidence for other crimes

It is not surprising that no news is how everything will be handled

I would say min 3 months ban is lucky.

The problem here is the power struggle - remove your opponent in power, than you can control everything.

Now with CTTA having no more authority over CNT, GAS direct influence would be more political than oppose to sport focus.
So the 3 + 2 future to me is slim. I would say if they do not suck up onto GAS going forward, all 3+2 will not make it to the olympic.

This to me is worse off than just a 6 month or 12 month ban.
Once you are on the "black book list", that is it. Until someone else with greater power reforms GAS

No, at this stage, this is no legal case being brought up. Seems, in law, citizens have right to request government institution to release certain information within a deadline. If refused, then citizens could bring it to the court. This lawyer was famous for doing similar "request-info-from-gov" things earlier, for similar injustice or behind-curtain arrangement.

Yes, i know
but given this situation, i'm pretty sure no lawyer will get far
The "power" is really deep into gov

While I fully share that grim view, there's this little spark of hope (against better judgement, maybe) that insists the power grab isn't entirely a done deal yet, and that the extraordinary superstar status of the players and coaches involved might just make a little difference in this day and age of ‘social media’ masshysteria. I do think totalitarian control became a bit more difficult recently.

…Actually, no, I don't, reconsidering that. That's a pipe dream. The very same ‘social’ frenzy has led to a singularity in which a significant part of the global population gave away the last shreds of privacy, putting their entire lives (and the lives of those they relate to on any way) in the hands of a few large enterprises, single-focused to the point of full sociopathy, and with loads of shared interests with totalitarian regimes. Sorry, spark. They are toast, and the masses are fully under control, having willingly shackled themselves.

for the ones thinking they can just jump ship to another nation,
remember that IOC has strict rules in place
Ma Long will never be able to represent another country in the olympics
XX if teams count, he will not be able to represent another country in the olympics

for FZD, given his age, there is a "time frame" until he can represent another country in the olympics
I think its 6 or 8 years? can't remember

Lets wait and see
i would say, 6 to 12 months at least for us to know what will happen in the great picture

remember, CTTA has been helping world wide TT
GAS could be against it, so all those Chinese table tennis colleges and all those CTTA camps would become history

I think China wants that olympic medal, so they will offer them to 'be quiet and we won't ruin your career'. If ML, XX and FZD will be banned from CNT then they are heroes.

if no punishment to them, gov would feel like "other people would lose fear because disobedience has no consequence, then all would dare to disobey". This is the mentality how this country is managing its citizens. So, to maintain this fear and authority, definitely punishment would come.
