Some major team and individual upset’s in the third round of the Chinese Super League on the 5th June 2011. Read on for more and enjoy the videos matching each write up. Remember to leave your comments below.

Bayi vs Zhejiang
The Opening match up was between Bay’s Wang Hao vs Zhang Yibo. The Chinese national team member and 2009 World Champion Wang Hao swept the floor with Zhejiang’s Yibo with scores 11-8, 11-8 and 11-4.
In the second match veteran Ma Lin stepped onto the court to try level things for Zhejiang. However, the young rising star Yan An was not giving up that easy. The game throughout showed incredible display of topspin attacked with the eventual winner being Yan An. Yan beat Ma Lin 3-2 with the deciding set being 11-6.
Bayi were now 2-0 ahead could the powerful Zhejiang turn scores around?
The third match up was Bayi’s doubles pairing Yan An and Zhou Yu who faces Hao Shuai and Xu Hui. The match was an epic! Zhejiang tried their upmost best to stop the pressure from Bayi however eventually lost 3-2 with scores 11-9, 7-11, 11-6, 6-11 and 11-7.
Even after 3 rounds of the Chinese Super League things haven’t gone quite expected for the betting man. This is the third successive win for Bayi in the league and having just beat business giants and league favourites Zhejiang can anyone stop them? Bayi went into the league in the hope to not get relegated, if they carry on at this rate... they will be holding the winner’s trophy.
Jinzhou vs Jiangsu
Jinzhou’s veteran Wang Liqin started off in the opening match against Lei Zhenhua. Wang was in his best form similar to his prime days of the 21st century. Wang Liqin disposed Lei 3-0 with scores 11-5, 11-5 and 11-2.
In the second match up saw Jiangsu’s Chen Qi face Shang Kun. Shang played at a superb level to match Chen Qi throughout the match with some incredible serve’s to utilise his shots. The match went to the fifth and Shang Kun closed the match 11-6. This gave Jinzhou a 2-0 lead.
As like every other Chinese Super League match the third game is the doubles. In this game saw Jinzhou’s paring of Shang Kun and Zhai Yiming face Lei Zhenhua and Lin Chen. Shang and Zhai maintained the momentum of the first two rounds to win the doubles match 3-0 with scores 11-5, 11-6 and 11-9.
Sichuan vs Ningbo
The opening match up for these two mighty teams was Ningbo’s Jun Mizutani vs Qui Yike. Mizutani having gone into this match as the favourite, left as the defeated! Qui Yike was on top form and gained Sichuan’s first point of the night defeating Jun Mizutani 3-0 with scores 11-5, 11-3 and 12-10.
Superstar Ma Long stepped up for Ningbo in the second match against Xu Ruifeng. Xu Ruifeng of Sichuan played superbly in this match! He shocked the sporting world by making a huge comeback of being 2 games down against Ma Long. Once Xu reached the fifth set he was so determined that he maintained the form and defeated Ma Long 11-7 in the fifth set. This gave Sichuan Club a 2-0 lead.
The doubles match, the third match of the night was Ninbo’s pairing Wu Hao / Wang Jianjun vs leaders Xu Ruifeng / Zhang Yu. Sichuan maintained form to win the doubles match 3-1 with scores 11-7, 11-6, 8-11 and 11-3.
Sichuan didn’t fail their crowd and showed huge amounts of determination to clean sweep Ningbo.
Shangdong vs Bazhou
These two giant’s both haven’t lost in the Chinese Super League yet. However, one of them will have to have their first loss this season.
The opening match saw Bazhou’s Xu Xin defeat Fang Bo. Xu was in total control and won 3-0 (11-8, 11-5 an 11-7).
The second match was world 2011 champion Zhang Jike vs Bazhou’s Cui Qinglei. Zhang Jike of Shangdong played strong and got through the inform Cui to win the match!
The overall score now was 1 point to each team.
The third match saw Shangdong’s Zhang Chao / Fang Bo play superbly to beat Li Ping / Cui Qinglet of Bazhou 3-0, 11-7, 11-1 and 11-6.
The match the crowd had all been waiting for. The two giants, Xu Xin and Zhang Jike. Shangdong’s Zhang Jike had the better of Xu Xin throughout the match to win those crucial points when necessary. It also looked to me Zhang was to strong and Xu Xin’s backhand couldn’t keep him up with play. Zhang went on to win the fourth set and fourth match 11-9.
This running performance has shown how strong Zhang Jike is. He is a key player in the Chinese National Team and will be representing China in the London 2012 Olympics. How are you finding the Chinese Super League so far?
