to be honest I dont think persson will do that well, will be suprised if he beats anyone like yan an or fang bo, i would say he is there to promote interest from euroopean community which is good though, must have got a nice payment too

The TV networks want shorter transmissions, not so long matches, and TT doesn't have the status to resist this imposition, unfortunately.

If you look at sports.sohu.com or sports.news.cn (with google chrome if you want it translated) you'll see TT gets very little attention on the front page. It's mainly basket, football (domestic, English, Spanish & Italian), and if you want any TT news you have to click on its own section which is huddled in with the "other sports" bunch.

Wow ZJK lost to XX... didn't expect that to happen...

I think ZJK lose to Xu Xin in previous China Open too. He met ZJK at Semi and Ma Long at Fina.
If I am not wrong, he won the first two sets but Xu Xin catch up and won the whole match. I think it's the same thing here.
If you look at the points, the match would be quite interesting. So, can we say that the better and consistent player won ?
I just can't wait for the video =)

XX beats ZJK every once in a while, but overall even though he won here, for most of the game it looked like ZJK had the much better game and controlled a lot of the points well. He wasn't affected by XX's biggest advantage, which is his mid range looping game. ZJK was able to hit it down the line and change the angle of XX's mid range loop a lot which really messed with XX's game. ZJK and Ma Long have gotten used to playing against the amazing spin of XX's mid range looper. Therefore, XX needs to make some improvements to his game. Out of the three young players, I think he has improved the least. He needs to take advantage of the main strength of penholders which is the short game. Wang Hao and him rely too much on the latter half of a point, which is good against most players, but against the top Chinese players, their backhand simply isn't good enough to compete with the shakehand backhand. They instead really need to develop their short game to the level of Ma Lin. XX and Wang Hao's forehands are so good that if they only attacked more, they would have a huge advantage. In this game against ZJK, in the latter half of the match when he started doing better, it was because he was changing up his short game. His shots were going to different areas that made it harder to predict and therefore harder for ZJK to open up with his backhand flick.
