As far as Doubles goes you'd want Ma Lin with XX rather than WLQ. WLQ does well with righty players on his team such as Yan An and ZJK in the past, but he's not done well with XX who will definitely be a doubles player. Right now Ma Lin and XX are probably the best combo for Doubles play in the world as Ma and Xu compliment each other most equally. Ma is a very close to the table attacker and Xu is a great mid distance attacker. They both however are quick on their feet and play quite similarly. Xu having added Ma's traditional blocking capabilities and Ma's tactics are going to be the toughest of all to beat.

That's right buddy!! I think YOU should be on the team!! Not Ma Lin! But then again, it's not finalized yet. These players are just in the contention. A lot of things can happen. Who knows, next year you start beating ZJK and Ma Long and suddenly LGL picks you instead hehehehe

well i would have taken wang liqin !! ma lin sometimes surprisingly looses matches against lower ranked players as we have seen recently....

I agree with Mr.Richard. Wang Liqin probably doesn't stand a chance at getting into the singles anymore. Ma Lin doesn't either, but he is way better at doubles matches which makes him the best backup-5th player.

Not an issue, William Henzell is on the ITTF athlete commission committee also and it doesn't appear to consume much of his training time

if zhang jike and wang hao are set for the singles i´d go with ma long for the team. he is the player with most potential. xu xin would be a good choice too (left-handed penholder, hard to handle) but he´s rather unexperienced in major events
