Last Friday before the quarterfinal clash between France and Spain in the UEFA Euro 2012, Spanish players Cesc Fabregas and Gerard Pique took to the table tennis table to warm up.
This video became viral on Weibo where Chinese table tennis professionals including Ma Long, Xu Xin, Zhang Jike and head coach Liu Guoliang discussed the video. Ma Long, Xu Xin and Zhang Jike are huge fans of the Spanish football team and are often seen wearing the national t-shirts during training.
Thanks to tabletennista.com for the translations on Liu Guoliang's comments on the video.. "Just watched them play. Pique's handling was good while Fabregas' speed was quite fast. If in a real competition, the result will depend on who will be able to chop. More transitions will be the key." Liu Guoliang said.
The equipment seemed poor said Liu Guoliang and he said I would consider sending the Spanish National team a DHS Olympic table
Video can be seen below between Cesc Fàbregas and Gerard Piqué
Enjoy!
Who do you think won between this epic encounter?
Once again a fantastic video for promoting our beloved sport!
