Why do you always have to argue with people? It's quite annoying and unpleasant.

Grunwettersbach is an example of a club that clearly didn't want to go far in the Pokal - they played round of 16 in Fulda with a B team. It's also (mostly?) a question of money, as the top players are contracted for a certain amount of matches only per year.

PS: Dusseldorf already missed Final Four last year, but that was because of a tough draw against Fulda.

how I know? I deal with these clubs management and with all due respect to nextlevel - it is probably general knowledge in the German community too.

Not at all. I dont know as much as someone trying to place players but I know far more than casual lens. I am simply wondering why these are responses to what I have written as opposed to standalone expository items. I didn't reply to your post, you replied to mine. Ah okay. Thanks for explaining. No I am not new to following Pokal, this was the first time I had followed it and seen teams like Duesseldorf losing to Homburg or teams like Fulda getting stretched by Grunswettersbach (yes, I remember a couple of years back when one team had an international squad with Dima, Truls and Harimoto/LYJ but that was even unusual at the time). I was curious how even an unusual score like Duesseldorf losing to Homburg could be explained by Duesseldorf not taking it seriously. It just seemed like my thought process and your explanation made no sense. Thanks for your explanation.

Please feel free to ignore me. It would make my life so much easier. You educate and correct a lot of people already. One less person will not break the bank.

FZD is now back to using H3 on the FH and D09c on the BH. The tables today are Donic so makes perfect sense that he will switch back to his usual setup on grippy tables like Donic.

Hurricane and Dignics beats Zyre, Homburg vs Fulda going to Match 5. Makes you wonder whether Dima should have played the power-slot for Fulda.

Fan goes 4-0 (predictably) to give Saarbrucken the title. Hopefully teams like Duesseldorf can hold up their end of the bargain in the future to make the fight more competitive. This felt more like a coronation than a competition.

Fan Zhendong is the strongest table tennis player ever in what's supposed to be his prime, of course it's not a competition.

I drove to germany yesterday. Mainly to see FZD live for the first time.
Germans are the lousiest fans so quiet and only loud with a few stupid sounding instruments or loud music in breaks.

Other than that I enjoyed Filus's games the most. Especially vs Franziska.

Also watched franziskas FH a lot since he was the closest other than meng with his height. But their games are just not comparable to us amateurs. They have to solve different problems than we have to.

Seeing dima who has crazy sidebackspin serves for example but serving mostly close to empty in actual matches..

I was impressed with Fans serving skills the most. So low somehow so fast even though his serves are mostly short..
He actually won his games due to placement of his balls. His opp didnt even get the chance to block his balls. Brother knows exactly where to attack.

With the other players you saw them looping and then getting blocked out to the corner they let open..

Also prob like 100x let. Shows again how serious they take serving low...

Idk what Dima plays right now. But his over the table short ball control was terrible. I knoe there is a lot of pressure to keep the ball back low and short. But tbh if I was him I would just either flip or push long and get to half distance. Not sure what the point was losing 20 points trying to keep it short back.

Also superb how fast tall dudes like franziska goes back to ready position after serve. I will def compare that aspect with mine. He also has a more chinese fh stroke and dima has like my old fh technique. Shows backswing doesnt matter if you train 6h a day since as kid. I do still believe fh technique like franziska is less mistake prone.

Also jonathan seems to be the nicest teammate you can have. Out of everyone the most supportive one. The others are more individualist. And that even though he lost is only game.(here in my league people are pissed for the entire evening if they lost lol)

These highlights are funny - it seems that the coach (my guess, I could be entirely wrong) of Fulda (maybe Fanbo Meng's dad/brother/cousin) played and he as a lefty penholder had a more interesting match with Kanak than expected... even surprisingly better than his son/brother/cousin...
