you need to make a new podcast with a player not so top but you need to dare ask all the questions you never ask.
like...
-do you boost?
-how much do you make a month?
-what will you do when you turn 35 and you are considered old as a player?
-do you get more girls because you are a tt player?
-do you hide your serves on purpose?
-do you cho to annoy the opponent?
-does it come to a point where you hate the table and the ball after 6 hours a day training for years?

and so on.

I think it's very unlikely that a player is going to answer all those honestly and furthermore it's quite rude considering they've taken the time to support the site.

Hi Kuka,

definetley a couple of questions we could ask. Like what players are going to do after table tennis and do you ever get bored playing 6 hours a day. We have asked a few players about boosting, Kristian Karlsson for instance said boost to our boost vs no boost question. I really like the idea of your cho-ing question, we will ask some future guests if they do anything to psyche out opponents and use cho-ing as example. Asking if they hide serves on purpose is obviously going to get a no, as no player in their right minds is going to say yes to that. The money and getting girls questions whilst interesting and funny respectively, are a bit too personal. We will treat all guests the same no matter of their level it's just a matter of respect. We can't get a lower ranked player on and start asking really personal questions just because they aren't at the same level as other podcast guests as thats just not fair. I hope that answers your post and thanks for the feedback, some really great ideas there that we can definitely use.

I mean doesn't have to be lower ranked, just you need to have good personal knowledge of them so you know they won't be offended.
maybe you could do something like "podcast: the lost tapes" which is not the official podcast.
here the interview is different and you ask whatever comes to mind, even very provocative questions.
you could even say you made these interviews before just to test how the system would work

Yeah I know what you mean, but still asking very personal questions like money they earn isn't our business really even if it wasn't recorded I wouldn't want to be asked that question so I couldn't really ask it myself. This goes for other more personal questions as well.

actually I remember going to the personal page of jorgen persson and there was a section where it was questions from the audience.
one of the questions was "how much money you make"
and persson actually answered it.
he said some very attractive figures, like 200k a year in his prime, something like that.

I understand what you are saying but it's not that simple, there are boundaries which we have to respect. Wow really? Do you have a link to this interview? Sounds very interesting.

I think they removed it.
It was pretty old but it was the most extensive thing I read about him.
He also talked about equipment, at the time I think he was using donic coppa and that stuff.
And he said that he had no fixed setup, sometimes he would use donic coppa, sometimes donic waldner, he would be changing all the time.

Maybe some other member can find that interview or at least remembers reading it as well.

I can't remember if he talked about his grip there, maybe he did.

I assume that in his prime, the choice between Coppa, waldner etc would be secondary to the effect of x layers of speed glue.

from what I remember he said that he had no definite set of rubbers and that he would try a lot of new stuff and change often.
some guy even asked him what was the best brand and he said "of course donic! never use anything else than donic!" or something like that lol.
