Haha we wouldn't win, ITTF have never favoured us in competition :p

wahahahaha

maybe 3rd time lucky?

But seriously speaking. Seems no one on this forum is interested.
And since you and Dan have great TT knowledge. Good English speaking skills
You guys may just be the best and only choice in this "competition"

Haha brilliant idea guys! Maybe we should enter Matt :D I am not to sure how good I will be. Don't you have to have that certain voice etc? I may be knowledgeable but in terms of creative talking etc I may struggle :)

Would be epic tho!

Of course before games you could find some history information about each player and the history between them their play styles etc . You can have them in front of you as well as some expressions you can note down so that you have handy if you stuck. Can't wait for you commenting:p

Thats the problem - you (commentator) is not suppose to find anything.
These stats are provided to you, to aide you with your work as a commentator.

I'm not sure if ITTF can provide this, I know CCTV does, so it makes Yang Ying's life so much easier.
But then again, besides the stats, I think it is best that the commentator explains/comments the match in both layman and guru with proper language.
Not AWW and OOOHH and WOOOW, that is noise polution and doesn't can't as commentating :)

haha the trouble is that they don't know how to combine the explanation in order to entertain both table tennis AND non-table tennis players. It's too tailored for new watchers who don't understand the game, they forget in the process that 95% of the people watching ARE table tennis players or enthusiasts and WANT a proper technical commentary!

I agree

From listening to CCTV, I will say, focus on technical commentary, but at times explains the termology to the audience.
This way, you are increasing the knowledge of the audience too - even if it is new watchers.

Different thing is ITTV is on ITTF website for TT people, while CCTV is a naitonal TV broadcaster and they already cater for both.
