This pisses me off the most. It can happen with Truls' serves too, but when the ball travels half the table width it's not vertical anymore. These umpires don't know how to do their job and get away with random decisions.

The service rules are totally impossible to judge correctly. As a former umpire i know it is impossible to always judge correctly. The ITTF should make the service rule very clear and strict. SO not the ridiculous 16 cm height toss but something like min. 50 cm -> no more doubt needed, even a 40 cm high toss will be high enough.

Man I love the mixed timing rallies in this match so far.

This one actually feels like high speed chess match. It's less convincing when they use that phrase to describe when two players are just throwing their bodies into topspins loudly grunting.

If ever there was an illegal service it was Calderano on the last point of game 2.
His hand was on the centre line as he tossed it up and the ball dropped at the table corner for service contact 🙄

Trulls uses illegal serve. Look carefully: he lift his arm at eye height and then throw the ball. His palm also hide the ball
