At crazy 2am timings in my time zone

WS R64
Bajor 4-3 Sawettabut (-8, 3, 8, -7, -10, 5, -6)

MS R64
WCT 4-3 Diaw (-7, 16, 8, -6, 0, -8, 4)
Taking G2 in deuce and especially G3 after being down 0:5 was pivotal.
G6 65 TO for Diaw, 66, 86, 811. The color commentators pointed out that WCT should've stuck to the serve that pinpointed Diaw in the short game but he changed, likely because he didn't realize or even forgot in the heat of the moment.
G7 02, 12, 13, 83, 84, 114
Chan Kong Wah, former head coach of HKTTA, along with former HKG player Tang Kwok Kei, kept stressing how WCT didn't need to go for shot quality in the counterloops, but instead should go for heavy spin to keep the ball on the table. He did just that. A painful lesson for Hayata.

In the post-match interview, WCT said the focus was to jack up the spin in rallies and increase the variations in 3rd ball when asked what Liu Guodong, Liu Guoliang's older brother, told him after G3.

I'm watching the Iba match from the start right now. It's so awkward how there is no contact between him and the coach and he clearly is communicating with someone in the crowd for coaching. Anyway, here is a quote from his facebook about his beef:

"It is a very sad day for me as I announce that I am a victim of moral harassment and deliberate intent to harm my career by an individual and my federation.
In August, I was unpleasantly surprised when my federation announced Mohamed Gueye as the national team coach just after spending a week in Senegal. His sole purpose is to secure a spot for himself at the Paris Olympics.
Mohamed Gueye is a mechanic and was a former amateur player for the national team in the early 2000s. He disappeared and had nothing to do with the federation until my arrival in 2019, where he self-proclaimed himself as the coach of Senegal. After three competitions where he gave me absolutely no advice, only being there for the cameras and benefiting from my career. Having noticed significant gaps in his knowledge of table tennis (he has no coaching qualifications and is not licensed in France or Senegal), I kindly made it clear to him that I need a coach who can help me beat the best African players like Aruna Quadri and Omar Assar. After several months of intense discussions with Mohamed, I finally managed to hire the best coach in France and now the world, Nathael Molin, who is now the coach of the Lebrun brothers.
Four years later, Mohamed resurfaces with a plan to bribe my federation into mentioning him as the national coach! I would like to mention that since 2017, no other member of the Senegalese federation has participated in an ITTF or WTT competition except for me. And all of this at my own expense (€50,000 over 3 years). I also had to pay for my African championships out of my own pocket.
After several discussions with my federation, I proposed that Mohamed could come during major competitions and the Olympics as a manager and take care of organization (flight bookings, schedule, draw, financing, etc.). Unfortunately, their response was to stay in my simple position as a player.
While for my federation, I have won 4 African medals, secured a qualification for the Olympics, and have been in the top 100 globally since 2019. I believe I have been a good example for Senegal, which I have proudly represented for 5 years.
The worst came during the African Games in Ghana. During my first matches, Mohamed stared at me with crossed arms, with a threatening look, didn't even support me, didn't even get up to give me water or try to help. So I asked him to make an effort or leave me alone to play because it was affecting my performance. But he replied, 'I don't need to make an effort. I don't care about you or your performance, I just want to sit on the chair and go to the Olympics.'
After several attempts to resolve the issue with my federation, they responded by congratulating the team for the results achieved at the African Games, even though I managed to win another medal through my mental strength and perseverance while experiencing the worst experience of my career.
I asked my federation again if I could play alone or have another Senegalese coach accompany me for the qualifying tournaments. In vain, they replied that Mohamed must absolutely sit on my chair. They even said, 'We know very well that Mohamed can’t help you in anything, but he must sit on the chair.'
For me, participating in the Olympics is an honor and is earned through the perseverance of thousands of athletes! My goal is not just to participate but to try to perform the best I can! This dream has been taken away from me due to the lack of support from my federation, and the malice of Mohamed, who claims to be executing God's mission to develop Senegalese table tennis, even if it means sacrificing time with his family. Since taking office, he has done absolutely nothing for the development of Senegal and coached for only 3 days!
After these 3 days, myself and the second Senegalese player requested to leave the national team because his integrity and competence are catastrophic!
Of course, I would to participate in the TQO (Olympic Qualification Tournament) which will take place in 1 week, but not under these immoral conditions and being surrounded by people who wish me harm.
The situation is a disgrace to a professional sport. A sport that I love and have devoted my whole life to. I’m sad to announce that someone else has decided to put a stop to it…"

Despite what the score suggests, Piccolin put up more resistance than usual, particularly on BH.

Yeah, he wrote about it on Instagram, but I think he took down the post. Unfair treatment, hiring someone unfit to be national coach, something along those lines.
its one of those country/national federation assigned a coach so they can tag along for a nice holiday
the coach is probably in Paris and Iba refused to allow a holiday maker be part of his coaching corner.

technically, it isn't his coach.

edit, I saw you found the post
ps, Zim has 7 athletes and 60 something officials or something like that...

Yeah, I'm just saying coach to refer to the person on his bench. He doesn't have a personal coach I believe.

sadly, OG, the federation/NOC has say
they have limitation on who to be coach and if the office people want to appoint any one, then victims can only oblige

this is an event between IOC and NOC and not athletes vs athletes.

Blows my mind that you are just screwed as a player. He did well to play under those conditions.

After seeing both Wang Chuqins and Fan Zhendongs haircut.

I can positively say that Fan Zhendong will win the gold medal.

The haircut has always been the deciding factor in recent times, and this time Fan takes it.
There you go, no need for special god tied Hurrinane 3. Just a good hairdresser.

It is also very strange that in my YT feed there is hardly any OG TT highlights from previous day games. If it were WTT events, there will be plenty of highlight reels in my YT feed. Strange, truly strange...

Olympics come with rights of broadcasting to regions and countries. So unless you have a good athlete who is being followed by the broadcaster with rights in your country, there will be rarely highlight reels until the medal rounds, and they will only show the medal round highlights if your region cares.
