Lebrun just beat LYJ and Ovtcharov in a nail-biting 7 games. He's relatively stable for someone who's 17 years old.

An aging Ovtcharov and injured LYJ - by the brightest stage, I mean beating the CNT. I don't see him beating any of them in the major tournaments until after the 2028 Olympics at least. I was waiting for his match with FZD to finish today before replying to show you what I meant - utter 4-0 destruction. He couldn't even get a game to 9-11. The CNT completely figured him out.
As it stands, only Harimoto, LYJ, Truls - maybe (Franziska, Sora Matsushima) are real threats to CNT.

There was a TV series ages ago named Kung Fu. The protagonist when he was younger was referred to as grasshopper. I just modified it for table tennis (pong).

When I first came on this forum and saw your username it made me smile.

This only beating China matters attitude will be the death of many players. Beating the players in front of you is fine. You will beat China when you start making the investment in beating them that they make in beating you.

Perhaps. Problem is that due to political "agendas" and/or inabilities by the people responsible for education, (younger) folks nowadays are oftentimes simply not able to understand philisophical/humanistic messages like that and to implement them in their daily life. I'm not only talking about politicians, but also "overmatched" parents as well as people disguised as teachers. Sad but true.
Anyway, the best TV show EVER is of course Twin Peaks...
