OVERLY PROTRACTED, OVERLY TIRESOME.

The team olympic competition is overly protracted, at any rate. It tries my patience badly. Again, all players participating this Olympics have now got overworked like pressed lemon.

ITTF should re-consider team competition for next Olympics to a compact format. A mixed team of 1male + 1 female player would be an optimum.

Not Facebook. Directly from the International Boxing Association:

This reminded me of Luca Kumahara who is a trans man now. Haven't seen him play since the transition, looked up his Instagram and he is super buff now.

We already have that, it's called "mixed doubles".

So they have no air conditioning, live vomiting from river water, men claiming to be women punching actual women allowed by the IOC but disallowed/condemned by the international boxing association, and insulting billions of people during the open ceremony. Yikes!
I'm not a religious person so the last supper parody did nothing for me, but the one thing that outright disgusted me is having a "fat acceptance" activist not only involved in the ceremony, but put literally front and center.

Olympics are supposed to be a celebration of athleticism, that demented ideology shouldn't be allowed anywhere near it.

An aging Ovtcharov and injured LYJ - by the brightest stage, I mean beating the CNT. I don't see him beating any of them in the major tournaments until after the 2028 Olympics at least. I was waiting for his match with FZD to finish today before replying to show you what I meant - utter 4-0 destruction. He couldn't even get a game to 9-11. The CNT completely figured him out.
As it stands, only Harimoto, LYJ, Truls - maybe (Franziska, Sora Matsushima) are real threats to CNT.
You say, completely figured him out.
What do you think it is/was tactically that they implemented?
I've only seen short highlights from that match so I don't really know how it went but I was expecting it to be a bit closer tbh.

Adding here as I just watched the full match.
Felix just played into Fans hands from what I could see, loose, open, fast, FZD had the time of his life. Open shoot out, topspin for topspin, shot for shot, let's go! Completely annihilated...
Felix placement was very questionable for me, far too often he put the ball directly into FZDs strike zone. Could be the speed of the ball coming to him and pressure he was under hitting the shots but a lot to work on. The long fast serves were brave but silly imo and really I couldn't see any clear tactics from Felix.
Bronze medal match will be another wild shoot out!

check this out.

So IBA has Russian gov involvement during the time of Ukraine war?
I think if IBA have evidence, why they didn't just give prove when you are banning its member athletes?

Lin took part in Tokyo.... she sure didn't win.
maybe the facebook community must nominate a test for Lin to take part in, as if she is indeed "female", then this is getting absurd

Luca still played women's table tennis with team Brazil during WTTTC Inchoen if I recall

Not sure why discussing thr controversial topic of transgender females participating in female sports categories is considered hate. It's a different topic from whether transgender females should have some rights as females.

This seems to be a huge mess and IBA stating in the press release on 31 July that Lin didn't appeal seems to be a flat lie, as she did appeal it. Subsequently she was tested in Taiwan again in March of this last year and passed and continued to take part in world events. So, if any, this news is 1 year + 4 months old.

another link says the trouble all started when Khelif defeated a Russian boxer....

Khelif is the one that has gotten the press in the USA after the defeat of an Italian lady cop.

There's a lot more to this than some FB bs. Check the history but don't check it on a pro-left, pro trans, pro DEI places like BBC or rubbish.
I've checked the receipts. They all point to this being fake drummed up outrage for political purposes. I follow boxing and combat sports closely and have for decades. I'm acutely aware about PED issues since I'm forced to analyse it for professional purposes.

The woman has a 37-9 record at the amateur level. This is an average record and nothing noteworthy.

There's been no released results of any tests suggesting anything other than what's easily searchable and available publicly. The boxer was born a woman and there's pictures from her childhood looking like an ordinary girl. She was born in a country where it's illegal to be LGBT and you can be arrested for it. There is no transitional treatment for trans people in Algeria.

The only "evidence" of her having any hormonal or biological advantage except for a supposed test done by the IBA, an organization now banned due to its corrupt ties to Russia. There were no questions or concerns about this woman until she beat a Russian boxer a few years back. After that, the IBA claimed that she had failed a gender test without providing the receipts at all. The result was rumblings and rumors and outrage. This was pretty clearly untrustworthy info spread by an organization nobody in the boxing world trusts. The IBA issued a statement in the wake of all of this saying that the results were confidential and they refused to elaborate.

Now we got an army of useful idiots over the world spreading this fake news and furthering obvious political propaganda.

If your feed is full of outrage on this, then perhaps you are being groomed to be the useful idiot. By the way you uncritically have accepted the narrative and then handwave away any other explanation as having to come from "pro-left, pro trans" sources shows you've already got your mind made up.

It's not hate and it's a good topic of conversation. Especially for combat sports, there should be strict controls and standards set for what athletes can compete. I am extremely uncomfortable with trans athletes that have transitioned late and have significant structural and hormonal advantages.

However, this situation has nothing to do with trans people. This Algerian boxer is a chick. There is zero evidence that there's even any issue with her hormones or gender except for vague statements by a disgraced and banned Russian boxing organization.

Here's an article with some details about the situation with the IBA. https://www.nbcchicago.com/paris-20...t-are-the-gender-rules-tests-and-why/3510220/

If you dig deeper you'll find more articles leading to the decision to ban the IBA that include its ties to Gazprom, and its opaque and shady behavior. Job well done by IBA I guess. Pretty crazy how obvious Russian propaganda gets eaten up by idiots all around the world, but this is just one instance among countless in the past few years.

And once again, it takes several pages of explanation to counter one line of misinfo. But apparently 'there's more to see here, don't trust your liberal media'

A lie can travel halfway around the world while the truth is still putting on its shoes. Asymmetrical warfare indeed.

why are we talking about boxing?
They say that table tennis is just like boxing but with a racket and a table.

Actually nobody says that.

Any update on Hayata's arm injury?

Because we talking about problems with this Olympic, like no AC for athletes shuttle (and officials have AC) and someone included the fake news about IOC allow men to compete with women.
