Hirano, yes. Hayata, no.

Remember Hayata lost to Batra 2-4 in 3rd place match after barely edging out DHK 4-3 in QF (with her golfer's elbow) at Asian Cup 2022 while still/after recovering from her injury from WTTC 2022. Compared to Hirano who took out Batra 3-1 at WTT CT Lima 2023 before withdrawing due to the leg cramp, Hayata has had a hard time beating pips (remember her H2H against Ito) when she is not in tip-top shape, hence my comments (workhorse Hirano and dumb Hayata).

Harimoto is still an unknown given that she mentioned about almost losing to DHK at WTTC 2024, that she didn't have the strength yet to win all her matches before the final but she will work hard to make that happen here.
I guess we will see how it plays out, but Hayata beat Batra the last time they played and I don't think she was in tip top shape then either... I considered that 2022 Asian Cup Hayata to be an injured Hayata in my head, I felt her level was lower even before that event started probably with injuries from Chengdu or something. And with all that, I still feel Hayata knows how to play pips, Ito isn't just pips, Ito is a lot of things. But these debates are part of what makes sports interesting...

Thailand and Japan stick with their R16 lineups. Together with Korea, placing the third player in the ace spot seems like a common strategy with this team format. I also recall Singapore experimenting with it when it first came out at 2018 WTC.

On the other hand, India, Sweden, Romania, Men's Taiwan and Japan team appear to be sticking to the more traditional best player plays two singles formula.

If Germany loses this match, and Boll loses doubles and his singles match, the "Franziska was robbed" crowd will yell: "I told you so!"
Can't even ask Timo to retire because he will do it anyway.

Looks like 3:0 for Sweden if Dima doesn't beat Truls.
Not so sure, but Dima will always fight so you know his matches are never over until they are over. Same with Timo though at matchup with Kallberg won't be great for him, and of course, Qiu is the Euro champ.

Truls is back to his old ways instead of being the Silver Medallist.
I told everyone that nothing about him really changed, maybe he is slightly fitter. Winning just conceals certain things that people make a big deal about.

Well, that’s it, he used all his energy up at the singles
Not at all, Dima is a good player and pushed Felix. Was also a regular training partner of Truls since they play for the same club even if they are not together all the time. These are all 50-50 matches, not matches where only one player wins convincingly. The scores so far are all normal.

I didn’t mean the score or skills. It’s Truls’s mentality and weird expressions even in this 4th game

He did them against Fan, he has been doing them all tournament, sometimes on or off camera. But people only notice these things when someone is losing because they are more intense then.
