Do you guys really think Miwa can beat WMY? I think it's gonna be hard
Who on the CNT isn't hard to beat? That's not the point. The focus here is who has the better odds.

Against WMY, Hayata has the lowest odds because WMY has the highest win rate against lefties, and the 3 non-CNT players WMY has lost to in this cycle were righties (DHK, YJN and Batra). Therefore, Hirano and Harimoto would have better odds.

Kind of makes me sad French people and other Europeans are possibly missing out because the Chinese fans are just so quick with tickets. The ratio is definitely crazy. A lot of my club mates went there for previous rounds, but it was too expensive for me.
They even each had cheering gear and flags, so next time you go to a game you can take a flag with you as well, with so many flags I even had the illusion that this was China's home stadium.

This is the only team medal match that has made me upset. Imagine if Japan had taken the doubles, SYS would have been feeling the pressure that much more when Hirano led 7-1. And with Miwa playing at that high level, things could have been 2-1 for Japan and we would still have somemore table tennis to watch. But as the Japanese men's team and German women's team has demonstrated, you can't just rely on one player to win a team match, especially not when you're facing the CNT ladies.

Semifinals: Miwa carried by her senpais
Finals: Let down by her senpais

I wonder if we will ever see a day where the great wall of China is dethroned. And not a young inexperienced team by way of WTTC 2010, but the current team of champions. If Chen Meng retires and SYS + WMY's level goes down after this cycle and no one else comes up to replace them, the eventual victory may not feel as sweet.

The victory will feel sweet no matter what.

Just giving my honest impression. That's all. It's an open forum. Maybe others remember things differently. I just don't recall the look of disappointment even for a China vs. China matchup at the Olympics. Or anyone flipping off Deng Yaping when she won gold. Or chanting Wang Nan's name while Zhang Yining is getting her photoshoot after winning gold in Beijing.
All of these are overzealous and unreasonable fan behaviour though, what does that have to do with the CNT??

Miwa is making good progress at 16, and that's all you can ask for. Hayata did what she could despite the injury which was seriousness enough to not play in the ace position. Miu started off brilliantly, but SYS is at another level. Looking forward to see what they will do at LA 2028.

It looks like Japan's men's team is more of a threat, FZD is no longer a new generation, WCQ doesn't seem to be showing the dominance of CNT, and Harimoto is full of strength and dreams again. It's really tricky, I guess I'll need to bring my blade when it counts and stand up for the Chinese team, and hopefully in four years I'll arrive in the city of Los Angeles.
And bring my cheerleading gear and flag to cheer and give the blade to Ma Long to sign.

Nah, Japanese women are more of a threat
WCQ thrashes TH 4/5 times. The future will tell if that result 2 years ago was a fluke or not.

Besides Miu and Miwa can actually challenge SYS and WMY, unlike Togami and Shunsuke

well judging by the frequent harsh comment made by Mizutani towards Togami, I pray he return to JNT as coach and beat some wit into Togami's thick head, maybe then he'll undergo major changes

WT is the 2nd hardest event to drop as told by LGL. The Olympic team event (with doubles and 3 members only) is arguably even harder than the team event of WTTC, not because of level but rather pressure.

Unless JNT fixes their coaching, as pointed out by LGL, Mizutani and Tanaka, the Great Wall of China will remain standing.

Togami has improved, he challenged LJK down to the wire last time around, He's not met Wang/Fan/Ma in a while though, so it's hard to gauge his improvement relative to the competition.

I think his grade is fair.

Shinozuka is still quite underwhelming despite being able to play the "right" shots though. I hope the curse of the diminutive lefty Japanese starlet isn't haunting him.

Shinozuka reminds me of the plucky kid in the karate movies who alwa gets the crap kicked out of him but something tells me that pluck will see him prevail because as you said, he seems to have all the elements to his game. He just needs that movie training montage and he'll be a world beater! 😂
Shinozuka will probably follow Harimoto and bulk up a little. That extra bit of power is definitely needed.
His first game V Moregard was brilliant but it seemed like Truls (the bully) was toying with him at times. Its just a bit early for him I guess but although he lost predictably, he also gave signs that the talent is there...
