Russian League will not be only the strongest league in Europe, but also the world!

Hello, I am new here, nice to meet you guys who also love table tennis. Since I am from China, do please foregive me my poor English. thank you!
I just watched the video of Ma Lin's first match in Russian League(Bad for him, a close defeat), and heard the news that Wang Hao(possibility 100%), Jun mizutani(90%), Ryu Seung Min(60%) will join in Russian League after this season; which made me too excited to fall asleep. Since I am now studying in UK, I have some understanding of the European Champions League, and personally I used to believe that German League, or French League should be the best in Europe; however it should be Russian League now. Let's assume the number of top players in a league shows the toughness of the league.

Top players in Russian League next season:
Wang Hao(ITTF Ranking:4) ,
Dimitrij Ovtcharov(7) ,
Ma Lin(8) ,
Jun Mizutani(9),
Vladimir Samsonov(11),
Michael Maze(18),
Ryu Seung Min(20), which means there will be 7 out of the top-20 players in Russian League next season

Let's compare the line-up with China Super League:
Ma Long(1),
Xu Xin(2),
Zhang Jike(3),
Wang Liqin(9),
Hao Shuai(11),
JOO Saehyuk(13),
Chen Qi(16), amazingly China Super League also has 7 of the top-20 players in the world, which indicates that Russian League and China Super league are closely on the same level, regarded as the two best league in the world.!

German League may come third,
Timo Boll(5),
Chuang Chih-yuan (6),
Adrian Crisan(19), which is still impressive and has strong tradition in European Champions League.

ECL next season will definitely be so enjoyable, and I hope one day there will be a World Champions League where top clubs from China Super League, Japan top league, or Korean League can also take part in. It should be more competitive than every national events! Wish more big-name players will join in Russian Premier League, to really achieve and defend the title of the strongest league in the world!

I don't think that there can be a world club championship as I think the top boys move between leagues/clubs during the same year. So potentially they can end up playing themselves.

Yes I think the Russian league will become one of the strongest leagues (as long as Chinese top players keep playing there --- what if Ma Lin and Wang Hao just leave after 1 or 2 seasons?). But it will not be even close to the Chinese super league. The Chinese super league has all these "passive" top players who don't play tournaments which is the only reason why they're not in the top 20 yet. Players like Fang Bo, Yan An, Fan Zhendong, Zhou Yu all belong in the top 20, and I'm sure there are others out there as well.

It is all clear, but the Chinese are clever enough to keep those guys at home (not good for their personal ambitions though) occasionally letting them play on the international arena. Otherwise I think even the top 30 could consist of the Chinese players with only few non-Chinese ones. That would be a huge damage on the world's TT popularity. They are happy with what they have now which is actually everything. I think the export of some Chinese top players like Ma Lin and Wang Hao to other countries can be a part of Chinese experience share programme, because, really, the recent several hour ago win in World Team Classic is the reason to paraphrase famous football saying "Everyone plays table tennis, but the Chinese always win". But they fully deserve that and everyone having ambitions in TT should learn from them. Hopefully this new export wave will do only good to the European and World's TT.

Thank you! Fang bo, Yan an, Zhang Chao, Fan Zhendong are all gifted and hardworking players with all my repect, however i think Zhou Yu will be the best in his generation, who is even more blessed with talents. Whatever, as a Chinese citizen, I am pround that China has no worry to win gold medal or defend the crown of the best league in serval years' time; however sometimes I am always dreaming that if one day the international competition of TT can be as tough as football, instead of the monopoly of the mighty Chinese TT. The rise of european league can be the first step of global-spread TT heat, wish one day if countries like Netherlands, Russia, or GB can meet China in men's team final 20XX Olympics, then China win(3-2) in the very end. It will be so nice!

As much as i love watching chineese players play againts each other in top form cause that stuff is just out of the world, i have to say it s also kinda boring knowing that they will win every event, i mean just look back at waldner persson times, that was probably the peak of all the tt from spectators point of view, every team event was unique cause china and sweden were co equally matched back then, the crouds were going crazy and with the occasional french players like gatien causing upsets i just miss that kind of stuff nowadays

I understand, Gatien was so good at his peak time, so sad he won a silver medal in Olympics instead of a gold one; what is more upset is the best French player now Adrien Mattenet, though good , not even a threat to Chinese top players at all, Sweden national team is falling as well. Even some Chinese TT fans like me(despite of those most loyal ones), wish to see chinese player matching a foreign player in the final; but sadly, this seldom happens.

haha, it is nice that European League and China Super League are not substitutes. Does this mean Boll will play in German and China? Ovtcharov, Wang Hao, Ma Lin will play in Russia and China? sounds so interesting.

I think it's a good step of liu gouliang! But there have to come more chinese players in the european topleagueas like the german, french or now the russian league. But it's even better now for wang hao and ma lin because they are to old for the national team. I don't understand why wang liquin doesn't come to europe. Here he will have money and will play matches. And i think this is what a proffesional player wants! But in the future i want to see younger chinese player like yan and fang bo. Cause i think what they need is not only training or playing 1 master in 3 months. They could play here for good money and when they are good enough they can play the chinese superleague.

Considering all the big names to be involved in the russian league is quite dificult to disagree that it could became the strongest league in europe, for a little while anyway. That being said though, I'd like to think that even the chinese players, as well as everyone else, will find it somewhat a bit difficult over there cos the standard of the league in general is pretty good...meaning, I don't think they'll be just "walking it over" if u know what I mean! But hey, lets hope we get lots of footage of it to make a good judgement.
