Haha! Nice vid GECA! This rally is a bit more highier quality of play than me and my father haha So this is the longest rally in World Tour history? I thought I saw a rally at the Europeans once which had over 300 shots...

umpire granted point to Ai based on "expedition system" - http://www.ittf.com/ittf_handbook/ittf_hb.html
basically, if set takes too long, player that serves must win in limited number of returns, otherwhise he loses a point.

Xu Xin lost first 2 games to Fang Bo. Many unnecessary mistakes by Xu Xin.

Is it me or are players chopping the ball more with the plastic ball? When a player puts heavy spin on the ball, the opponent blocks it back, sometimes coming short, and the attacker is forced to push/chop it.

I think because the plastic ball is coming a little shorter than the celluloid ball and players are struggling to topspin it when short, so they go for a chop. I have seen it a few times in this semi final already.
