Or maybe Ito was simply better overall than her in this match?
so much so that she was down 1-3 and had to save a matchball? Oh wait, I remember you, you're the ridiculous guy who thinks Chinese playing in the finals is a tragedy in itself for there's no drama for the foreigners to follow. Lemme add you to my ignore list you while you're here.

Wow. You disagree with my opinion so you add me to your ignore list. Very mature. Apparently nobody here is allowed to be anything else than a chinese fanboy who can't give credit to anybody else other than chinese players. Good to know.

And just in case you're still mumbling about my "Chinese bias", it is an insult to my table tennis knowledge and general intelligence and the primary reason you're now in my ignore list. If I say Kasumi played better and choked in the third game, will that make me Japanese biased? What an idiotic notion.

You know trouble is coming when Oh Sangeun is in the coaching seat.

Key to Ito beating the chinese is to do something different. She has a very unusual game, Ishikawa doesn't.

And I don't think LSW choked. Mima was doing 90% of the attacking through the entire match. She missed too many for a while, until she didn't.

exactly. Thats how HIRANO won, the first time, her game was unusual, but the Chinese players got used to it and she didn't find something else since.

On the men's side, HARIMOTO is coming with a new play style. I don't think anyone can beat FAN Zhendong at his own game. Whoever wants to beat the Chinese has to come with new ideas.

Game 5 with LSW, and game 3 with DN, are 2 prime examples showcasing what Ishikawa utterly lacks - the aptitude to adjust and adapt on-the-fly when things don't go your way.

Ito plays a style that has an inherently tighter "window" than the inverted style, what's often referred to as the "對上點(meeting the optimal point)" in Chinese, yet she's able to work it out in mere minutes. That's something you simply can't acquire through training.

The issue of cutting corners is also evident in Ishikawa. Yup, her again. Can't help it. I've been keeping watch on her since 2009. In 2014, she said in a TV program she needed to work on her backhand, with her then new coach Chen Lili. She also said she had to work on the crucial points. In 2017, in yet another program, she was still fixing it, with yet another new coach, Li Lu since 2016. Her handling of crucial points is still disastrous as she pointed out in a news report after losing to Chen Meng. She also admitted to constantly imitating other players, never truly building on her own style. She copied Hirano's style after witnessing what she achieved. She revealed that she'd been focused on protecting her place on the team until she realized Ito and Hirano were already breathing down her neck. After so many years, she is finally back to working on her fundamentals. Yup, after years of cutting corners.

Bottom line? She just doesn't have what it takes. Zhang Yining said that much during her commentary in the final at the WTTC 2016.
I hereby await the formal apologies from those who discredited me. :p
