haha, yes exactly! Butterfly is embarrassing when it comes to names on their products! Like 10 different names with timo boll and Zhang Jike. cmon, give me a break!

Same thing with Donic blades. No fantasy what so ever. I guess thats why their brand is starting to disappear from the spotlight.
Kindly enumerate all those 10 of timo boll and zjk.. ☺ enlighten us about them and why they are called such names..

I personally did not notice any inventive step that could be granted with a patent in Stiga's newly advertised blade. So, I am really curious about the mentioned patent. I searched the European patent office database and was unable to find a patent granted to Stiga for a blade similar to the one in the video. Does any one know the patent number?

I beleive that there is a patent but maybe its the other company who has it. im sure that stiga will not cheat on such important thing.

You can find this info in the PDF brochure of TeXtreme. It's not a patent of Stiga, but Oxeon AB.

This is also not about a specific blade, but a series of blades that would use the carbon technology that they are calling TeXtreme.

As far as I am concerned, this is just hype and marketing. Since I don't like the way carbon blades feel, it does not interest me.

you are maybe right upsidedowncarl but i like this marketing. its something new that will come into tabletennis and new things are always interesting. i also not a big fan of carbonblades but still i think its interesting and i hope it will be something that can help me improve my game.

But you have that Timo Boll Innerforce ZL Super Zhang Jike 5000 that you are playing with? What could make you play better than that. That blade even does the footwork and moves to the ball for you? Hahahahahahah

Somebody put a serious large dose of Sarcastic Powder in Carl's coffee today. Don't worry TTD, next time I'm in NYC, I'll find that vendor and deal with him... to get a few doses for myself. :)

After all these years, you think it would have been easy enough to discover and create the Golden Grail of a TT blade and nearly perfect it by now. The only thing left in blade design is to make it with different combinations and feel and look, kinda like art. That is legit evolution and innovation. It is only a coincidence ITTF made ball spec changes and the ITTF fees and the CHURNING of new sales follow.

That is the way of the Weasle in modern TT and that beast is rolling with a head of steam. The art of business is to entice someone to want to buy something they really do not need. Outfits that have been around decades do not survive by being poor businessmen.

Thanks P1ngPOng3r,
Those patents are all on a method of producing a clothing with similar texture shown on the Stiga's advertisement (they are unrelated with their use in table tennis blades). Tape Weaving Sweden Ab seems to be holder of those patents. They have found a novel and inventive solution to manufacture such kind of fabrics in a much easier way. I do not know the relationship between Tape Weaving Sweden Ab and Oxeon Sweden. But I see that that Oxeon is manufacturing or marketing that carbon fabric under the trade name of TeXtreme.
Anyway, the existence of those patents do not change my initial view. Using a patented material purchased from patent holder will not automatically confer any patent rights to Stiga and will not prevent other table tennis manufacturers using the same carbon fabric in their blades. The situation is similar to manufacturing of a ready tablet tennis bat by Stiga with the rubbers by ESN.
It should also be kept in mind that the existence of a patent does not guarantee that the product manufactured by the patented way will be superior to the older products.
