Timo Boll is not banned, he is just being very cautious and doesn't want to make the same unintentional mistakes like his team mate Dimitrij Ovtcharov did.
I’m sure we are all now aware that Europe’s number 1 table tennis player Timo Boll has been out in China for the last month and will be there until the middle of August. Timo is representing Zhejiang in the Chinese super league 2011.

Timo Boll’s team mate Dimitrij Ovtcharov was out in China last year and was contaminated with Clenbuterol. Clenbuterol is a banned substance and Ovtcharov belived he got it in a trip when he went to China. Ovtcharov is back to playing table tennis again after a long ordeal. Timo Boll is not looking to go into the same direction as he is currently in China with commitments with the Chinese Super League 2011.

Boll quotes, “The vegetables out in China are great however I really like my meat". Timo Boll will be out in China until the end of August and understands the consequences of being contaminated with clenbuterol. This is due to the fact that his team mate Ovtcharov had a nightmare last year when he went on a trip to China.
According to a recent study that was took in China foods indicated that most foods are contaminated with clenbuterol. To assure Timo Boll’s case if he was to get clenbuterol in his system he has took a urine sample in Germany before he left. His intention is so people know he is clean before he left to China.
It is believed Timo Boll is very cautious when eating in China and he often eats with his team mates Ma Lin and Hao Shuai. Timo Boll hopes that one day their will be better protection for athletes when travelling the world of this substance known as clenbuterol.
