I don't know the path you take toward the west, but if you come anywhere near Kansas or Missouri, I'd love to get you some good matches at our clubs!. Private message me if you get the chance.

our main club with the best players is at the address of 10440 Marty St, Overland Park, KS 66212

I play in Philly at the Trolley Car Table Tennis Club. Hope you will stop over some time.

Boogar, DO hang out with Next Level and get around, maybe you run into Ilia and Carl and Abe and you all defeat all the Goon Squads at once with the help of Abe's TT Club 14 yr olds. Don't underestimate them, just remember what a holy terror bad-azz you were at 14.

Your tour of the US of A will be mighty fun. Philly with NextLevel, Washington DC wirh Der_Echte, NYC with that UpSideDown guy, KC with Shuki. I suspect if you go out west to California, you will find ttmonster. And in each city you will have an awesome TT adventure and will probably get chased by the goon squad.

Der_ and NL will show you two unique ways of taking care of the goon squad. When you get to NYC I'll have you pull the switch on the trap door that leads to the sceptic tank at the secret hideout to once again catch the goon squad.

And then Der_Echte will have to show you the chicken and beer hustle that gets you free dinner for playing table tennis.

I was thinking, we may have to do another east coast posse meet up at LYTTC.

That will be fun. But you should also make sure you get to the east coast cities. DC, Philly, NYC, Boston.

I think pgpg is in Boston. He seems like he has a good head on his shoulders. I am sure he'd be fun to cause trouble with in Boston. He may even be able to take you to one of those Chinese restaurants that are open late night where, if you ask for beer, they won't serve you but if you ask for cold tea the will bring you a teapot full of beer.

After a long TT adventure and a dinner in Boston's Chinatown, some cold tea might be a welcoming beverage.

Thanks for the endorsement (although I know very little about cold tea in Chinatown, perhaps should look into that :) ).

Yes, Boston is worth visiting - both from sightseeing and TT perspective.

I could be outdated. When I was in the circus, while Ringling Brothers was playing the Boston Garden, there was this one drunken night, in 1997, where I went to some bar/nightclub after our show with one of my teammates, and after last call at 1am, we wanted to continue the party.

We went to this Chinese restaurant that was supposed to serve beer after "curfew". We went. We kept drunkenly asking the waiter for beer. He kept looking at us like he was scared and saying, "No Beer. Too late."

Then someone from Boston, who was also at the table said in undertones, "you can't ask for beer, they won't serve you. You have to ask for cold tea." We did and they brought us all the beer we wanted in multiple teapots, one teapot at a time. And, yes, we drank the beer out of those little Chinese tea cups.

But 1997 is a long time ago. So long ago that the Yankees were actually in the World Series and winning! [emoji2] So it was October or November of 1997 because the World Series was happening while we were in Boston.

If you are planning to be in the San Jose area , Sunnyvale, Santa Clara, Cupertino, Milpitas ... let me know.

I normally play at Swan , one of the quieter venues, but if you want we could meet up anywhere ...

options :

1. ICC --> has become a monster and you can't compare with anybody interms of facility , space and quality
2. SVTTC
3. Swan
4. Topspin --> I used to be a regular here but stopped once the new ownership went nuts with the club
5. WCTTA --> the drop in is a little high , but they are the most welcome bunch and have some good players who turn up every tuesday and thursday
6. Pong Planet
7. Ping pong Dojo

You could literally stay a week or more and never run out of new places to play in everyday ... counting the churches and other small venues .. it could well be a month :)

.... there are a lot more :)

Thanks for all those ideas! I will definetly hit you up if i am around. By the way i mixed things a bit up, im going to land in NY and will probably go into the north first to Massachusetts.

However id really like to visit the clubs in NY and maybe i can meet some of you at LYTTC!

As i am from Switzerland im not used to such big places as the US and i may not calculate time needed inorder to get to places :) (In Switzerland you can drive from one side to other in like 2-3 hours)

Bring some beer in green cans (Like Rolling Rock) in your ruck, stash deep in the club's fridge, and refil Ur Stainless Steel "Water Bottle" and drink from it between points. There is a Korean dude there who you will like right away, but you will never beat his C-Pen LP/LP game, he has too much touch.

Yes, scale is something you'd need to get used to. NYC to Boston is ~4 hours by car/train/bus or 1 hour flight. Early July I might be traveling abroad, but you can still get in touch with other Boston folks - try posting on mytabletennis.net as well, one of the guys from our club is moderator there.
