Oh shit, team USA no coaches check?
there is pre match test and post match test.
not too sure if pre match test was the racket sent in or not.
if it went in and pass, and post match fail? or
it didn't go in pre match and only had post match and fail?

Same player had the same issue pre match test in 2022 for both his primary and spare. So in 2022, he ended up borrowing another players racket.

Does that mean his rubber expanded during the match?

Or did he switch his racket to a thicker one after the pre-test?

if past in pre test and fail in post test, then I think this is something new
Or did he switch his racket to a thicker one after the pre-test?
this is not really possible if the racket was handled in and only given back to the player at the start of match 3

I think they should have a full mass spectrograph near each umpire chair & each player must insert their racket after every point. If it passes happy music is played. If failed, chants riidculing the failed player is played at all tables in entire arena inissde & outside with their full name , hometown , girfriend or boyfriend;s names & they parents' & grandparents' names & their children's names
1995 when it happened to Kim
he was very upset.
he beat Wang Tao 3-0 and would likely be the eventual champion.

It was a speed glue (reading) problem and one person was saying, speed glue don't give you an advantage on Kim's footwork, as nothing was beating Kim's footwork back then.
again, post match test (because back then, pre - match test was too slow).
people all thought Kim has won and then ITTF reversed the 3-0 to 0-3

It does open up to a lot of scrutiny.

there are comparisons used of what has transcribe by putting it in a NBA match setting to show you how crazy it is. ie where the results is halted in the 4th quarter because of something in the 3rd quarter....

Doping and striping of wins is probably the most common in all sports.
Table Tennis now have racket control (Twice in world champs in 20 years) in the same league

Waldner loss to LGL in the R16, close 2-3 with scores of 17-21 / 20-22 / 21-16 / 21-17 / 19-21
there was no Chinese that was able to stop Kim according to people that are older than me :p

after Wang Tao was given a lifeline, he then threw the match against LGL, with what people described as an exhibition match.
LGL beat KLH in the final

I was not talking about Waldner's loss at 1995 WTTC.
I wss refering to who can handle Kim Taek Soo during that time.

I remember Kim Taek soo & Waldner doing an exhibition at Los Angeles Lakers basketball game

But I guess Kim Taek Soo got his revenge (sort of) by coaching Ryu Seung Min at 2004 Olympic Semi Finals.

Kim's forehand was indeed crazy but Ryu Seungmin made Kim's forehand look like a grandma's
well, people said that "controversy" took a world championship title away from Kim as there was no one left to really stop in, except for a machine.

and yeah, RSM was just unbelievable.

According to DHS, Ma Long version forehand black hurricane 3 comes in 2.1mm thickness only. If we believe that to be true, then Ma Long is not going to flirt with thickness issue with his personal equipment.

I don't know why anyone including the said player from the US would flirt with hurricane 3 in 2.15mm thickness....

I wanted to talk about this in my next video
every one uses 2.1mm to boost

2.15mm is just crazy, unless liang and others that end up on the infraction list, boosted way more than 0.05mm than other people haha

@Tony's Table Tennis could you explain the thickness rule and how USA could have failed and the impact of boosting?

the limit is 4.05mm, so 4.06mm is over the limit
all rubbers are made to be under 4mm
there is also provision for glue, as glue takes up some space

booster is like another layer of glue

if 1 person put 2 layers of glue, vs 2 layers of glue and 3 layers of booster, it is like 2 layers vs 5 layer.
of course 5 layer would be thicker
