As the info from gan, player version will turned as by players request. But star version will not. That's why some time same player sheet have different aspects from different tournaments.
you know, I still remember when Dima talked out publicly that he will use soft/harder sponge depending on the tournament venue.
He would also glue differently (more or less layers of glue)
It was a video produced by Butterfly.

There is just so much to know about equipment, that the average person will never know of.

Lol, I know that, players skill and status change time by time, like sun Ying sha, she use 40.5 at Tokyo, now she use 41. Fzd use 41.5 at Tokyo now he use 42.

This is true. Practically speaking, H3 commercial should be good enough for most players.

But its just a game, and its fun to feel what playing with pro's rubber feels like.
LOL DO NOT use commercial guys, provincial and national are very similar and both reliably good. National really isnt worth the price difference and unless I was playing big tournaments again or getting it for free as a sponsored player, I personally today just go with provincial for coaching.

Commercial is horrible though, in my experience

When you say Provincial, you mean provincial blue sponge, I'm assuming?

I mean when you look at the price differential on Aliexpress, $10-15 is what separates a product with questionable quality and consistency (commercial grade) with a product made to pretty reasonable industry standards (provincial #20). Especially if one is boosting and hitting hard, getting provincial (even if it is #20 version) is a no-brainer. And even spending $45 for provincial #22 coupled with boost, provides a piece of kit that remains highly competitive even when compared to industry leading commercially available rubbers like Dignics

nah, blue sponge and orange both have national and provincial versions. Blue sponge tends to be harder with higher throw angle. Orange is definitely more on the side of being less arcy, bouncier and softer. I like both but if I'm feeling strong I'll use the blue given it is more venomous to play against

Also, do you know if there is a difference between the regular Hurricane 3 and the H3 Neo version?

I have heard that Neo reacts stronger to booster (and therefore is more catapulty/powerful). Do know if there is a difference in how they react to booster?

Commercial orange sponge, when DHS used to make it super tacky, was really fun to play with. Then they took the tackiness off so out goes commercial orange sponge hurricane for me.

I have since switched to provincial blue sponge and yeah I like it. But I still miss the good old days.

I have tried National blue sponge and it is not that it is all cracked up to be.

However if there is an absolute beginner, I think for $22-$25, commercial orange sponge is still a very good way to go, especially if they are on a budget and they are new to the sport.

I don't get why people miss extreme tackiness. My first H3 was an extremely tacky Commercial version and although it was easy to put a ball on a table, the extreme tackiness slowed the ball by a ton.

Nowadays, as an H3Neo Blue-Nat user (boosting with Kailin), I can surely say it grips the ball just like the tacky H3 Commercial does. Without this extreme tackiness, you get like 5 gears instead of 1, pretty much all the variety in the world.

nah, provincial is a caliber of the hurricane, irrespective of the sponge colour. Blue AND orange both have provincial and national versions, respectively

From what I understand:
- provincial as best value for money, national if swimming in cash or plain bored, avoid commercial like a plague
- OS or BS depends on preference, pick one you like most
- NEO or non-neo - here I'm lost...

NEO only? Doesn't matter? Depends on boosting? Is there a difference in how you boost NEO and non-NEO? Can you play either without boosting? As said, I'm lost here.

I mean i can only speak from personal experience. I just started using hurricane 3 rubber this year. I bought the commercial version. Played with it unboosted for 3 weeks. It was a fun rubber. I liked it even more than my tenergy 05. After 3 weeks, I boosted with 2 layers of seamoon. then it became a REALLY FUN rubber. I played with this rubber for many months until finally one week it feel like i was missing shots i was not normally missing. Then i took the rubber off, hit it with one more layer of booster and one more layer of glue. and it was awesome again. It's been about 6 weeks since ive done that. Still playing great.

Sooner than later, I'm going to boost the prov H3N OS that I have and play with those for a while. after i finish those rubbers, i will finally try out the blue sponge tenergy i've had in my drawer.

I would use neo, its got built in booster with it. Non neo is too slow
