I didn't talk about performance.

Hayata atleast came from behind to be number 1 in Japan. She had to overcome those who block her, and with age/time, she became stronger (and taller).
Who would have thought that she could leap the rest, and who would have thought the rest couldn't continue to improve and keeping that gap.

Having seen all of them in 2016 (when they were all 16), Hiyata's training discipline and staying on to train even after the whole JNT have left, earned my respect and I always thought she was more technically complete to take over the number 1 spot.

BTW, these girls also visit few times at the base I am at now. Miu's autograph is still on the wall, and I still have one of her autographed stored----somewhere...
I will be posting Australians at the base now too.

Miu's autograph is below the right bottom part of the white calendar. dated 2018.12.8

I hear you, I am just pointing out that as much as Hayata has "matured", she hasn't done anything that Hirano and Ito didn't do years ago. So it isn't entirely clear that maturity works the way you think it does, though I sympathize with your arguments, to be honest. But on the point of Miwa Harimoto's level, which is our main point, since you are not talking about that, then we really don't have much to debate.

I am hyped for Ma Long - Ovtcharov.
Ma Long will likely win and stay ovtcharovs arch Nemesis, but a Great Match to be expected nonetheless.
Something is in the water... Dima is the fave for tomorrow...

Where are my meds...

After European Games 2023 and ETTC 2023, Felix is roughly equal to Qiu Dang in MS and definitely higher in MT in Europe, but still slightly trails in MS in the World.
Is it WCT, QD or FL? Repeat or revenge? Find out tomorrow.
QD 0-3 F Lebrun
811
60, 71, 75 TO for QD, 76, 86, 88, 98, 911
40, 43, 73, 75, 77, 87, 811

What happened in the MS final of WTT CT Antalya 2023 was not a blip.

Normally, people would take more time between serves when things don't go their way. Yet, the Lebrun brothers take even less time between serves when that happens. That reminds me of AlphaGo, that we humans have been playing it wrong.

Take our understanding of the game of Go, which was taught and learned and
optimized by humans for thousands of years. It took AIs less than three years to
find out that we’d been playing it wrong all along and that there were better,
almost alien, solutions to the game that we’d never considered—mostly because
our brains don’t have the processing power to consider so many moves ahead.

Felix brought to life Muhammad Ali's catchphrase into table tennis - Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee!
If compared with the animal world or the world of mechanisms, then Felix most of all reminds me of a helicopter.
He seems to flutter above the surface, and his arms work like wings

Tomorrow's gonna be a firecracker.
If Lin doesn't beat Harimoto tomorrow, that's a big issue. Taking FZD to 7 game slugs ain't enough, If Harimoto stops losing to upstarts at the majors, Lin would be meeting him more, before he meets the Chinese anyway.

Stylistically I think Harimoto matches up fine against Lin, and I expect him to win.

In my opinion, in their meeting everything will depend more on Lin than on Harimoto. If Lin can force a play with a combination of sidespin and balls going in different directions, then he will win. If it comes down to exchanging fast balls in a relatively narrow range, Harimoto will win.
In fact, Harimoto's game is very predictable - it is a counter-reaction game, where he borrows incoming strength and speed from his opponent. And we must admit that he does it perfectly.
However, Lin has more options with variety and tactics. Let's see if he can take advantage of this.

Seems clear now that Felix Lebrun doesn't just have an impressive mentality for a teenager, but has an impressive mentality even among the best players in the world.

Whereas someone like Matsushima can go on 0-11 runs due to getting frustrated and forcing a winner against his opponent (there are many instances in many of his matches where he demonstrates bizarre and exagerrated follow-throughs with a frustrated look on his face), Felix really doesn't appear to let what happened in previous points get in the way of what he has to do in the current point.

Maybe keeping the pace high and rushing into the next point isn't so bad so long as it isn't motivated by a desire to quickly 'get one back.' The advantage besides you being more used to the higher pace may be not letting the opponent have time to enjoy any momentum, confidence, or sense of control over the match.
