Is this how you support your national athletes ? Qiu just came back to 2-2 and this is how the crowd "reacts".... all seats should be occupied with people standing up for your local athlete !!!

I won't be surprised if it gets moved next year.
UNLESS it fills up from tomorrow on and the wknd is a roaring success.
It could still come alive but I certainly agree, something needs to be done to get bums on seats if it happens here again next year

No way, I hope not!
Winning by 2 is a key element in the game. It would be wrong to change that. And winning by 1 would be even more cruel imo.

Amazing first day for me in the arena. Best matches for me were AJH v Lebrun and Shin Yubin v Adriana Diaz. Mainly because these players and particular matchups quickly got into the rallies, and knew how to hold the ball.

WCQ on the other hand just looked tired and slow, without any fighting spirit left.

LYS‘s technique is absolutely beautiful and looked extremely clean.

Diaz saved many points by her BH punch down the line. Post 15-15 SYB was used it and saved many on her FH.

It was exciting and felt sad Diaz lost at the end. I understand how frustrated it was

The problem is the time such great competitive tussles take. Since this was the final game, maybe it was somewhat inevitable. But while the struggle is definitely far more dramatic than the golden point, the golden point also has an air of finality that has its own drama.

I was there today and I can tell you I don't need French and Puerto Rican fans constantly screaming in my ear. So I was quite fine with the lazy crowd. Maybe everyone is just tired like me from all the WTT events.

I am not sure why @Tony's Table Tennis was so down on his chances, to me anyone who could even challenge Alexis Lebrun after the imperious form he showed at Euros and in his recent matches at Montpellier is in reasonably strong form.

well, I have the same view of LYJ prior to Paris
His condition for the whole year isn't great and my view has been as such for most of the year already.

So, I understand the expectations and won't be too bothered if results is not as great as one hopes.
I am not in liberty to say too much, on why I say such, but you just gotta trust me on that!

LYJ, as 8 seed, had a bad draw with 9 and 10 seeds in the first 2 matches and did well to win.
But I still stand my ground, he needs to rest.
I hope his team (and our team) will help plan 2025 better for him!

end of the day, no one wants to loose and they only have a limited time (career) to win.

When I booked my all week ticket back in August for 329€, all seats seemed occupied in the online booking system. Now I feel ripped of: Everybody sits wherever he wants without any control so whatsoever, having paid the cheapest daily seats.
I wonder if the WTT in Montpellier was empty as well...

Montpellier was full from day one. All 4500 seats.

And jokes aside, to really listen in honest opinions only to people who are themselves top 10 in the world at something very competitive, no matter what. I agree. I mean they are Number 1 or one of the top in the world for a reason. If they are junk whenever they lose or lose a few, then what hope is there for the rest of the folks who are playing?

Do not get me wrong, Its a crisis for WCQ especially, but if he wants to stay No.1 or in the top 3, then he has to work out why this has been happening in the last few months quickly. It is almost like its a mental block since that broken blade incident.....

I always thought that with LYJ, we would have a future world champion or No 1 in the world. I thought that anyway é years ago or so but last year and early this year I started doubting this. I don't know when exactly he got hurt (had to take a rest anyway I think) but since then he has never reached his top level of yesteryear. Until now, despite not watching everything anymore I find him playing more than decently again in recent weeks and even better than in his peak period. With what I have seen from him so far, I am confident again that he will one day...

He has the talent, the resource and the funding to make it possible.

CNT is on a downhill trend, timing can’t be better.
I think other player also post significant threat.
So table tennis will be very interesting going forward
