Who is overrating Darko as anything more than a strong European player? Nobody I've heard of. There was always a likelihood Sora was going to win this match.
Typical knee-jerk reaction, seeing Jorgic is 2W1L against Alexis and 1W3L against Felix (last two were 2-3, 9:11 in G5 at ETTC 2023 and Paris 2024, and Jorgic led 2-1 in both).

Jorgic has a hard time with lefties and he admits it. Yet, he has wins over CNT players, namely LSD and LJK.

Hirano couldn't receive Harimoto's reverse pendulum serves the entire match like she has never seen it before??
Hirano expressed on TV her envy of (can't deal with) Harimoto's YG serve (reverse pendulum serve called in Japan) before Olympic, seems hasn't been fixed.

Even Mima Ito have problem receive Harimoto's reverse pendulum serve, I remember Harimoto got a handful of points directly in last 2 games of a match just by this serve.

His only convincing win has been vs Franziska in Lima, but when you klook at the draw, if a top 20 player don't win this tournament, there's a problem
The first 3 rounds were vs out of the top 100 players, then Feng Yi-Hsin #50

Easy Contender right after the OGs, no real threat Franziska put aside. It was more like a Feeder. Even ...Gauzy can win a Feeder.

Now we look at the TTBL 1:
Only ranked #52 after 4 days/rounds. You look at his results, it's a pity. And #52 over... 54 players !!!

Nuff said.

OVERRATED

12/12...

Shin Yubin - Wang Yidi
Matsushima - Lin Shidong
He Zhuojia - Miwa
LYJ - Hugo
Chen Xingtong
- Odo
Kallberg - Walther
WMY - Qian Tianyi
Felix - Truls
I don’t think Miwa will best HZJ considering how badly she lost to her at their last encounter. shes weaker against long pips players in general

It's a knee-jerk reaction when I predicted it? Lol. I'm asking who is overrating Jorgic as a player and how are they rating him? As someone who could never lose to a player of Matsushima's caliber?

I'll be boring

Pavade Odo
Felix
AJH - this one will be over very fast
Shin Diaz
LYJ Dang
Matsushima Jorgic
Qian Tianyi Ito
Pitch Truls
WMY
Joo
WYD Samara
Hugo Kirill
Cheng I-Ching He Zhuojia
LSD
Duda - no upset this time

Brother he won Europe Top 16 three years in a row...
So what ? the european level at that time was quite low, with Alexis winning nothing at the international level, and Felix having an inferiority complex over his elder brother. The Top 16 is a competition european players don't take seriously, wrong calendar right after the holidays, I mean even this year Yuan Jianan has been able to win so it says a lot about Sofia, Bernie or Nina's motivation to play this event, but when it comes to the ETTC in October, where there are way more matches, more rounds, he's lost. That's where you see the real fighters. Plus the Top 16 gives only a few points for the ITTF ranking.

Plus in the ETTU ranking system, the european games and the ETTC weight more than the Top 16, that's why it brings less points in the ITTF ranking.
Weight for major tournaments in the ETTU:
ETTC: 1.0
EG: 1.0
Top 16: 0.8 ... only
International tournaments weight in the ETTU ranking system:
WTTC: 1.0
OGs: 1.0
EG pts have a 4 year duration, means Felix will keep his points for 2 years again, with a higher tournament weight, than Darko that has to fight each year to keep his pts for a tournament that weights less. The Top 16 is almost a european exhibition tourney.

I think she will win. She's a quick study. She needs to draw HZJ wider than the corner of the BH and block to the FH. HZJ does not move as well to her right. She also needs to be more drive oriented (like Odo) rather than rely on spin.

My post was referring to PoppaChubby's comment. Jorgic losing to lefties is nothing to write home about and has little bearing on his WR. He has not been lucky with the draws at Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024, running into LYJ in the QF and R16, respectively.

That match carries little reference value. Because of the T.League match, Harimoto didn't arrive at Beijing for China Smash 2024 until it was past midnight and then her match against HZJ was scheduled in the morning.

We're talking about a French guy who thinks that Gauzy works harder than the Lebruns because he saw an interview where they said that Gauzy does the most core strengthening in the gym, so...

That shovel serve by Harimoto carries much more backspin than expected but looks like side-topspin.

Winning against very young LSD didn't mean much. I'll be impressed if he could beat current LSD.
Jorgic's forehand is just too slow and lack of killing power to stay in top 10. Most Asian top class players don't think him as a serious threat.

You were right, this really was a convincing victory by Miwa. Big congrats to her

For whatever reason, Harimoto tried to overpower (think Dumb Hayata) HZJ after being 2 games up, but then adjusted in G4, breaking through from HZJ's FH with that shovel serve again.

Miwa's brother needs to take a page from his sister here. Don't play safe and work on that step-around. His sister blows him away.
