Yinhe K-4 compared to Viscaria?

> Me being poor
> Back to my hometown
> Play in small club -> not many varieties of blade
> Never tries ALC blades
> Viscaria/H.Long5 looks so gooood, but pricey
> Thank god china really good at cloning stuffs
> Heard yinhe K-4 is clone of viscaria

Have you guys ever tried it? What do you think?
The construction is different:
Viscaria: Koto-ALC-Limba-Kiri-Limba-ALC-Koto
K4: Koto-CarbonKevlar-Limba-Kiri-Limba-CarbonKevlar-Koto

From this video it looks really similar !!! the bounce level, the sound... Although in this video he uses TBS (but i heard TBS is also similar with viscaria)

bonus question: how do you compare ALC under toppply (visc, TBS, TB ALC) to ALC above coreply (H.long5, Innerforce ALC)?

I havent tried either, but i still dont think you can go wrong. You are right, they sound amazingly similar (even though it is a tbs and not bv). How close are tbs and bv to each othe in weight, thickness, plycount and construction?

If you are interested in the bv, the bv is really similar to tbs and we can tell tbs and k4 are alot alike, i say go for it if the price is right!

I am eager to hear someone who has tried the k4 to chime in. If no one does, then u can try and let us know!

P.s -those bats sound totally bad ass and like nothing ive heard before! Im really curious now!

Edit: just read a reivew comparing tbs to bv. I think the k4 is as close u will get to either of those two. My conclusion is a solid thumbs up

The Butterfly Website says Viscaria has a Balsa core. I have heard other people say Viscaria has Kiri core also. The one I had, which was years ago (black tag butterfly) was definitely a Balsa core.

I have also heard and seen that Viscaria is these plies: Koto-ALC-Balsa-ALC-Koto.

But I know mine had 7 plies (5 wood, 2 ALC). Pretty sure mine was: Koto-ALC-Limba-Balsa-Limba-ALC-Koto.

But it is still pretty similar to TB ALC and Spirit.

Kevlar plays differently than Arylate but it plays really well.

Yinhe K-4 might be fun to try. It should be decent. Yinhe makes good blades for less money. They are a good value. And that is worth trying.

My ultimate goal is still to buy viscaria. However I've never tried those ALC blades. If i were rich I would buy viscaria and W997 immediately and try it by myself. This is why im looking for clone of viscaria, so I can get the feel the feel of 'viscaria' (maybe slightly different speed/vibration, but overall it feels the same) with cheap price.

That's why I also asked:

This is why im hesitating. Which blade suits me more? because I've never tried both. That's why if i can buy cheap clone, I can get the feel of each blade and decide by myself which one suits me more.

Haven't tried K-4, but bought V-14 - the replacement blade for K-4.
Didn't like it. Fast and almost no dwell time. ball jumps very fast from the blade.
Can recommend on W-5 which my friend plays with. Very nice feeling, great control and descent speed.
Also played with T-6. Also nice blade, fast and nice control. Dwell time could be better.

I don't really like carbon so I might not be the one to ask. I like the carbon deeper rather than closer to the surface. I also prefer blades that have Zylon or Arylate and no carbon. I like Innerforce ZLF better than Innerforce ALC or ZLC. But people who like carbon seem to like Viscaria and TB ALC or TB Spirit more than Innerforce blades. The carbon has an effect but has less effect when it is deeper. It only kicks in when you swing bigger. So Innerforce blades play closer to wood blades close to the table and when you need to swing harder the composite material kicks in more.

I have never seen someone bounce a ball on two different blades like this. The sound is very similar. If the sound is identical does this mean the blades are very similar in composition and make up?

To me they don't sound similar. The dominant pitch is similar. But the Viscaria has richer tones and way more overtones in it. The Yinhe blade has much overtones overtones.

But the main thing you are really hearing from a test like that is the top ply. That test tells you very little about the plies underneath.

I do think Yinhe has actual Viscera clones though. That is not a clone of Viscaria.

I found this on Ooak Forum:

"There have been some old rumours about a few Galaxy blades that I'm going to dispell right now.

K4 - The 'Timo Boll Spirit clone'.
For: It does have a koto top. It's 5+2 ply. Nice feel. Would not be disappointed.
Against: It's thicker, faster and has a slightly higher ping. Core is about 0.5mm thicker. Maybe 1.

Hmmm this is the first time I saw someone says the opposite haha... thanks for the feedback

you're right... I recheck and k5 is viscaria. I looked for review of K-5 but there arent many, thank to fshimon I know k5 is replaced by v15.
I found many good review on this blade v15... the price is also cheap, only 180 RMB !!!

Btw, is it true that bty TAKSIM is cpen version of viscaria? I've tried taksim before!

here's a post from chinese forum, translated by guy from alextabletennis

Post #2(just a general question regarding the K-4):

K4????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
K4 has pretty good power, short table control is stable, it ensures strong(spinny) loops without losing speed, it's a blade that combines both good looping and speed. As for the rubber, if you like a bit of tacky, you can try the new Sun and Moon rubbers, put the Sun on forehand, Moon on the backhand. Or you can try the Galaxy Apollo(forehand), Venus, Jupiter, all pretty good.

Post #3(regarding a blade similar to Viscaria):
K5???????????????????????????????????????????????K5 ,?????????????????
The difference between K5 and Viscaria is that the Viscaria feels a bit more comfortable, control is a bit better, but more difficult to pair rubbers with. My friend has both, and he practices with the K5 but competes with the Viscaria! What kind of difference is there? (I think he means there isn't much of any difference if you can practice with one and play with another)

????v-14,?????????????08es???????????????
I use the V-14, cpen, feels pretty good. Forehand rubber is 08es, good for promoting aggressiveness and form(?), good habits.

Post #5(I'm posting the link to this one, it has some great pictures of the V-14 with rubbers on, there's also a good post in the thread comparing the V14, 15, and 16):

As young gun Zhang Jike burst onto the scene, I searched online for the Viscaria, and came away with the V14, 15, and 16
As for apperance, I feel the V14 > V16 > V15
As for quality, it seems like the V16 > V14 > V15
As for playing characteristics, V15 > V14, I haven't tried the V16 yet

V15 is supposed to be a Viscaria clone. I've played with a few Viscarias before, I feel that the V15 is even softer and crisper than the Viscaria. Price/performance ratio is very high. (then question about the wood, don't think it's relevant) V14 is pretty good, the thickness is a bit thin, and I feel that the control is not stable enough, and it lacks a bit of power from long range. (and then something about the V16 looking pretty good)
