Taken by the ittf.com. This victory for Zhang meant he became only the third player in history to win both the Men's Singles title at the World Championships and the Men's World Cup title in the same year. Other players to do this are Jorgen Persson and Kong Linghui.

The final of the Liebherr Men's World Cup saw a dramatic twist from the word go. Wang Hao raced into a 2 set lead with some incredible backhand topspin displays. Zhang couldn't find any answers against Hao.

However, in the 3rd set saw a completely new player. Zhang Jike found some inspiration and his fantastic serves and returns allowed him to dictate the majority of the rallies! The World Champion also became more vocal and shouted 'cho' on many occasions to urge himself to victory! Huge fighting spirit and focus is what led Zhang Jike to historical victory!

As China's Zhang Jike won the match point, he was full of excitement with both hands in the air. He then repeated his antics in the World Championships this year and ripped his t-shirt of his head and through it into the crowd!

Zhang Jike is the new Men's Singles World Cup Champion 2011 in Paris on the 13th November 2011
