Reviews/analyses/self reflections of Asian Champs from women's team (most written by hand)
cache.php

I have got these translations from another site. Chen Meng's analyses is really good:

Ding Ning - I attribute the loss to the ball, and my ailing mind and body.

Liu Shiwen - My shoulder injury flared up again during the team's event, and thanks to the ball and getting grounded by KLH, my form was less than perfect.

Chen Meng - "My heart hurt so bad upon the defeat. Words can't describe my feeling when the Japanese flag was raised...I knew before the final that this match was going to be hard-fought, but never had I thought I would lose." Basically, Hirano played differently from what she expected. Before this final, she never found Hirano's game to be particularly difficult to handle. She was confident in her own backhand to be superior to Hirano's. Given Hirano's shorter height, she believed her shot quality could open up the angle. Her only worry was Hirano's serve, which didn't pose much threat at the CTTSL. Those points ultimately led to her less-than-comprehensive preparation. Reviewing Hirano's match recordings against LSW and ZYL, Hirano showed the tendency to loop to the backhand side on shots to her forehand crossover. But in the final, Hirano looped twice to her wide forehand instead, before looping to her backhand.

Really? And just how do you see that?

Its easy. When you know where to look, there are so many options.
From hands, face, hair, ears, eyes, even clothes colors.
Everything can tell you a lot about the health of the person.
Just study, google, you will find out.

This is an interesting article about the food in CNT closed training session before London Olympic Games.
The chef of men's team said the players consumed 75kg meat/poultry, 20kg vegetables and 10kg fruits each day. Wang Hao and Zhang Jike like spicy and Ma Long likes mild. They all like steak, egg pancakes and bone soup.
The chef of women's team said Guo Yue likes eggplants, Li Xiaoxia likes all kinds of meat, Ding Ning likes veggies and sweets and Liu Shiwen meat and seafood.

Thank you for this information :)
That tells a lot!
So they really focus just on the excercises, but they forget to build the strenght from the inside.
That explains why chinese players quit with profi table tennis so early.
They train a lot more than european players, so they destroy their bodies a lot faster than euro players.
And without correct food, the body just cannot overcome it all..

so LIU Shiwen is complaining about KLH's harsh coaching ???

The question is : why HIRANO changed her tactics against CHEN Meng ? that's an interesting question !!

Because JNT in their video could see that the CNT were sitting on it?

I will have to tell that to my close colleagues at the medical school where I teach who diagnose and treat kidney diseases. Look at the clothes colors!

I don't think Chinese food is unhealthy.

Well, and what do you do for living?
Are you food and health lifestyle expert?
Because if not, what you think about chinese food is not relevant ;)

Now - I do not want to be aggressive against you.
I am only talking facts.
I am an expert.
That is why I am saying what I am saying.
I know how human body works. I know what food does to our bodies.
And from what I see - they are killing themselves from the inside.

Its ok, 99% of people in the whole world do this, only because they serve to a little lord called tongue.

I dont ;)

And I also know few people that are perfectly healthy, strong and fresh everyday, that dont serve to tongue too ;)

I don't think Chinese food is unhealthy. There are multiple reasons for CNT players' early retirement compared to non-CNT players.

Every time I travel to China, especially to Sichuan province, I feel like I am eating too much all the time and I always come back lighter than when I left.

The problem is, that people at medical schools dont think this is any good for diagnosis.
But I dont really expect any understanding from western people.
What is really shocking for me, is that they are actually CHINESE and they do not do it.
The western influence is obviously bigger than one would think..

The thing about those of us who work and teach at medical schools is that we actually know something about what the kidney ACTUALLY does and HOW IT DOES IT, so we actually know what to look for to see when it isn't doing it adequately. (Actually one thing you can sometimes see is swelling around the eyes and ankles, but by the time that happens there is some pretty significant loss of function). Anyway, I don't want to argue more about it (although you might be interested to know that I spend about 85% of my working hours thinking about how kidneys work, and what happens to cause them not to work, and have done so for many years). I am just amazed by people who claim to have super powers.

vs Ding Ning - Hirano was fortunate to win, save all those match points, in that one game. CNT strategy used was from Hirano play in the China Super League. Hirano had cleaned up her service return. Ning should have changed from Tomahawk serve late in match since it was not being effective. Hirano has her toughest match up against Ning style. Ning needs to clean up her serve return vs Hirano.

vs other CNT - Serve gave enough advantage to win. Most games were close. CNT need to clean up their serve return.

I am not a food expert but Chinese food is relevant to me because my family and I eat Chinese food for so many years...

I am doing scientific research and I don't like to draw hasty conclusions. Shenzhen is one block away from Hong Kong and Hong Kong has the world’s longest life expectancy . I posted what CNT men's team eat in Shenzhen and most food in the pictures is local food in Shenzhen and Hong Kong (life expectancy data for Shenzhen are shorter than Hong Kong but you have to consider the fact that Shenzhen is a city established some 40 years ago and have millions of immigrants).
Food is important for health of course but environments, genetics, exercises, health cares, food safety, lifestyle (like smoking), you name it, are also important.

I agree one has to be careful to what one eats. But that is nothing to do with Chinese food.

Well, and what do you do for living?

I thought by chinese food you mean food that CNT is eating ;)
Not chinese food in general.
Actually, chinese food is much healthier than european food, but that is other thing ;)

I don't serve my tongue but I eat whatever I like or tastes good. Watching what we eat is important but the problem is people usually get carried away with it and then we end up with eating disorders. (You don't see many of those in China or the East) The point is to draw a line between eating what you like and eating healthy.

Ding ning seems really humble and down to earth, I never thought she would be such a sore loser. The reflections from other players seem more honest to oneself. The ball plays definitely a role yes but both players are playing with it . And trully great players always adapted instead of complaining, maybe she hasnt accepted her defeat yet

IDK , I never liked Ding ning to be honest , Li Xiaoxia was my favorite , I loved it when she played with those totally uncool pants on when they forced her to wear skirt , even LSW seems more straightforward to me than Ding Ning ... that whole episode of her crying after being called on her serve was the last straw for me, it was just a ridiculous attempt to draw sympathy , like a lot of other players she does throw the ball back and being a lefty it adds an unfair advantage in service , so as long as the umpire was being uniform on both players about the interpretation of the rule I did not see an issue and she always had her tomahawk serve to fall back on , she went on cribbing she just has two serves ... and then there was that whole injury drama when she played LSW in the finals which LSW was winning till she threw that fit ... all in all she is a drama queen and just happens to have a lot of supporters
