They are not mentioned in any current document regarding rules, though.
Rule 2.06.02 It have to be less than 30°
Rule 2.6.2 does not mention 30 degrees... just "near vertically upwards":

2.6.2 The server shall then project the ball near vertically upwards, without
imparting spin, so that it rises at least 16cm after leaving the palm of the free
hand and then falls without touching anything before being struck.

The handbook for match officials section 10.3.1 does offer some further explanation but just says "within a few degrees".

Yeah, I quoted this without the diagrams. Both Lebruns do the A toss on the right diagram, but it comes down to a judgment call from the umpires and we have seen how random and inconsistent they have been with enforcing rules. I do fault players too for not learning proper serves and coaches/other people not pointing it out.

That was absolutely fantastic!
I'm delighted for Gauzy, he was plugging away by himself for France for years and then these 2 brothers come along and change the landscape big time!
Well done to the entire French team, delighted for them!

Put your money where your mouth is and post proofs.
Show me where to bet and I will bet. I don't gamble regularly but the one bet I did want to make (China would win all the medals it could win), I would have lost because of Truls in singles but I usually have bets with willing friends on these things. If you want to bet against China, we can do that. Just let me know.

It’s ridiculous that Ma Long doesn’t play a single singles match at his last Olympics. I feel like it’s rather his decision than not getting the chance in men’s team.
Wang Chuqin is the more secure bet at match 3, no? We can't blame China for other teams not winning matches.

Kallberg was the biggest EU talent since Ovtcharov but his mind is doing tricks. He should be more like Denis Rodman than average John Doe but I respect his humble person. I still think if he will Play like with Harimoto. He is top 10

I have heard of 30 degrees as well. The question though, is this in any official ITTF document? If so, ITTF should make this both clear and easy to find.
It also seems pretty clear to me. Alex's servics (and not only him) definitely do not go less than 30° upwards, you can see that with the naked eye. The fault always lies with the wretched umpires who dare not take responsibility and as long as this does not happen, they will continue to give illegal services.
