How can i tell if the Blade like Q968-W968 Is a Official National or National Player version ?
Please tell me

Thank you
You will have to trust the vendor - my W968 player is a no 3 but has no other indication other than some box writing that’s scratched out. I choose to trust Pro TT on this.

I like both of them - but they Are quite different. The S has carbon closer to the surface so feels most lively and a little like an outer in some ways but with a softer feel than something like a Viscaria. Q is very steady and safe with good feeling. My W is most powerful but that may be as it is a non standard player edition and Pro TT says has more power. I would say either Q or W as they are more similar in my experience.
Thank you for sharing.

I got my national q968 from Prott today! including H3N national BS 40°, D09c and Haifu black.
All DHS and Haifu products are authentic, haven't checked Butterfly but looks like usual in all aspects.

Wight of the blade is a neat 90,0 gr. Great finish. Could probably skip sealing it (?) still a bit unsure of this..

The ONLY thing to remark on is that the blade case seal WAS OPEN!
Don't know what to make of that? I have the box opening on video just in case.
Is this something they do at prott? or DHS? or has someone on the way opened it up, like in customs?

Yes, it happened to me as well. So I asked PROTT and he confirmed he opened the box to check everything is okay. My blade is also authentic so no worries.
I think they open the box to check the serial number as well. A No 10 W968 can sell at almost double price of a No. 57 one. You can't know the serial number unless you open the box, right?

No10 and No 57 is the from the same level, if some would like to pay more, why not. What is import in all X968 blades are number from 1-8, to be more accurate 1-3 numbers are National Player Edition version created from the best type of wood, using specific glue, manually assembled, numbers 4-8 are still National but created from a bit worse type of wood still better than numbers >8, and all the rest >8 are National Commercial and it doesn’t matter whether it is 9 or 59 this is mass production still better than provincial and commercial commercial. So if you want W/Q/S the best look for 1-3 number but they are the most expensive.
End of story.

I disagree. I bought my w968 from taobao. and every sellers over there told me that number doesn't matter. smaller number are just better for collection so people are willing to pay more for it. For national number version, blade's number doesn't really make a difference to play, and you may want to focus on weight or thickness when picking.

On the other hands, there are player version of 968. And player version does usually have a small number like 1 to 3. But a blade with small number doesn't necessarily be a player version, it can still be regular nation version.

What I heard about player version of 968 is that it is generally slight better than regular national number version. but there is no fundamental difference like between long 5 and 968. so you don't really need to go for player version for almost double the money. Unless you are just rich lol.

I am an Chinese, so there is no problem for me to communicate sellers from China. I have chatted with multiple big table tenis equipment sellers from taobao, and there are also a lot videos about 968 on bilibili which is one of the largest video website in China (like youtube)

There are also interviews from former cnt players talk about what they know about DHS. For example, you can try search about yin hang's discussion about 968 (not sure if there is a English translation version). DHS never officially admit the exist of player version, so still a lot of mystery about that. but I am pretty sure that for national number version, blade's number doesn't really make a difference

Thank you for your response. So, according to what you are explaining. W968- Q968 Official National Version & National Player version BOTH ARE the same, There is no difference, right ? And the number on W968 or Q968.... does not really make any difference. Because i am thinking about getting W968-Number 8. Or im getting the OFFICIAL NATIONAL VERSION ( Not National Player ). I thought the National Player is better and number 1-3 is the best.

National Player is generally slight better than Official National Version, but it is not huge difference I believe. The number on the case doesn't really matter. I would suggest pick a good weight and thickness instead of paying too much to get a small number.

About W968-Number 8, if you mean w968 with its number as 8, than it is a national version. if you are talking about 968-8, then it is not a official version. DHS has some testing products like 968-8 or 968-5, those are variant of w968 and are not officially released

Yes, i am talking about W968-8. Is it National version ? Official ? or just a regular W968. Here is the Pic.

w968-8 is not a official national version. it is a testing variant of 968. the blade in this pic is pretty old, so I am not sure if that is a real 968-8 or even 968 at all.

This is my understanding, as well. If it's a regular market version "official" 968 the numbers don't matter. A lot of people have tested this theory and they all seem to play the same. However, that being said there's still a general belief that lower numbers are better and sell for more. I've played a 17 and 3 back to back and couldn't tell the difference (same weight n thickness and rubber. There's also auspicious numbers that sell well in china, too
There's a lot of weird myth around these blades. I think DHS purposely complicates everything to try to give them some extra aura. Also, as an aside, I would not recommend buying a player issue blade unless you really know where it came from and have someone important that can vouch for it, cuz there are def fakes

You know that W968 number 1-3 are player versions, right? There‘s no number 1-3 commercial version. That’s why they start costing a lot more from no 3 and can cost 2.5 to 3 times as much for a no 1 version which in theory are used by the players themselves like Ma Long with W968 or WCQ with Q968. So there definitely was a difference between those no 17 and no 3 versions other than their prices.
