Regardless, they're having a tough time vs Croatia now ! WTF Franz did vs Pucar ? and why is Duda having so much difficulties vs Pucar after winning the firsts 2 games ? this german team's got a lack of self-confidence.
Pucar has beaten Dima in just about every big match they have played with each other and is a strong player, has troubled many good players, variations in his level are hard to explain but he is especially strong against anyone who dominates with backhand. Because he doesn't play in France or Germany, his form flies under the radar a lot. Team matches are very hard, the home crowd raised Croatia's level, Germany played well to survive a tough matchup.

More head-scratching for Ueda now. Can't beat Moregard, can't beat Karlsson...

Haha.... why you bring Japan into Euros lol... let them stay where they are....

Surprised Sweden is playing Ranfeur. Maybe Falck doesnt like the Ionescu matchup. That said Chirita has given Romania paths to victory. A lot will depend on wherher Ovidlu can beat Ranfeur.

EDIT: Seems Ranfeur beat O. Ionescu recently so the coaches are playing the matchup game. Players still have to perform.

It is really funny and pleasant to see Tokic still playing after a retirement ceremony was held for him and we haven't seen him on tour in years. Also interesting that no (relatively) young talent in Slovenia is currently strong enough to take that spot. Is Hribar injured or just not in form?

EDIT: Was looking up Tokic and came across this old TTD interview/post.

Funniest question and answer:

It's at most disrespectfull and at least ignorance. Of course, China is way ahead of everyone, but for South Korea, Japan and Taïwan vs France, Germany and Sweden, that's another story:
1- France has beaten Taïwan then Japan in WTTTC + '24 Olympics bronze medal match
2- Sweden has beaten Japan in the '24 Olympics semi final

So for Japan, they'd be at best the 3rd european nation, or even the 4th. Taïwan is near there too.
3- Do we really need to talk about Germany vs China classic finals all along the 2000's and 2010's era ? and still in 2022 WTTTC's semi final they've beaten South Korea.
4- Germany again has beaten Taïwan then Japan in the '20 Olympics

It's that simple: in any team competition in the World Championships or Olympics, there's never been any all asian final since the 2016 Olympics, so that will make 10 years next year in 2026 in London for the WTTTC.

Relax, the interview was in 2013.

Now should we talk about the men's single finals ?
Of course China always win... oups sorry not this year at the World Cup, it a draw cos' Hugo won this one (developed and trained in Europe by a french coach by the way until this year)
Let's see:
both finals this year it was Hugo vs WCQ, no Harimoto, no SK player, no LYJ
24 Olympics : Truls vs FZD, so Sweden
21 WTTC in Houston: Truls vs FZD, so Sweden again
20 Olympics Dima beats LYJ for the bronze medal, so Germany
19 WTTC final... Ma Long vs Falck, Sweden again

And on and on...

With all due respect, compared to ATTTC, there are not that many talking points. The match format is too "lazy". Should have more position matches.
There are talking points, we can discuss the matches and the players, no need to re-use Tieba talking points here. The main issue is that the matches are not on Youtube, if they were, everyone would get good visibility into them.
