So tomorrow we will have
Ma Long vs Shiono Masato

I'm looking forward to Ma Long and Shiono, I hope it will be a spectacular match with lots of rallies.

Actually, the two met each other once, 10 years ago, at 2004 ITTF World Junior Championships, Kobe, JPN Nov 28 -Dec 5 . Ma Long was the winner. Here is the score.

7 SHIONO Masato JPN
12:00 - 4/12/2004 H H 1-4: MA Long
10-12,7-11,5-11,13-11,3-11,-,-
8 MA Long CHN
Don't know if they still remember the match. Also, don't know if they have met since.

Wow that is a great stat! I hadnt realised Masato played Internationally that long ago. You are right I wonder if they remember one another's matches. I suspect Shiono will. Was Ma Long World No.1 Junior at the time?

Ma Long vs Shiono was quite close, the final scoreline 4-1 in favour of Ma is convincing but most of the games were within a 2 point margin. Shiono's defense is very impressive, only his counterattacks were mostly well handled by Ma Long. I enjoyed watching this on the live stream, if only the resolution was HD and sound was better...(little winge). Xu Xin vs Panagiotis was a bit of a wipeout, I saw that both Xu and Panagiotis was looking at the game next to them a lot (I wonder which game was it?), neither found their own games that interesting hehe, I have noticed before that Xu Xin is normally very reliable against choppers, somehow his FH always does the damage in the end :)
