Ma Long - Zhang Jike, perhaps not the most fiery match between them. Interesting to see that Jike has such an advantage from his serves, even though they must know each other by heart now. Ma Long did a lot of forehand errors which is not like him. Deep pushes into Jikes backhand was also very successful to Ma Long, which is also quite uncommon. Quite the ending with Ma Long doing a top spin serve followed up by a big bang!
Could someone more in the know say what this match means in terms of condition and prestige?

Could someone more in the know say what this match means in terms of condition and prestige?

They try to let the player get used to the Olympic stadium and pressure in advance. So, they just try to match the floor, the arena condition that will be used in London. Also, they also include audience too. The audience can support the player they like, and this will create some pressure on the other player. Like in the WLQ vs WH match, there are two group of ppl, the young one support WH and the old one support WLQ.

But there is also something far more than that. It just that the two olympic singles, WH and ZJK will have more pressure in these matches. Because they afraid of revile everything they have right now, but they had to win the game to build up the confidence. Just like the game 7 match between ZJK and Ma Long, they do mention that based on ZJK past experience, if ZJK win it, then ZJK is most likely the Olympic champion. Because it tend to be ZJK will keep up this form for few months before it drops down again.
