Hao Shuai defeats Timo Boll and Vladimir Samsonov at the China Open 2012!

On Friday 24th August 2012 China's Hao Shuai made a superb comeback defeating recent Bronze Medalist (team) at the London 2012 Olympics Timo Boll at the GAC GROUP 2012 ITTF World Tour Harmony China Open .

Hao Shuai the no.9 seed defeated Timo Boll in a tense seven set thriller which had the audience on the edge of their seats. By the narrowest of margins Hao Shuai won in seven sets in round of 16 with scores 11-8, 11-7, 7-11, 5-11, 11-6, 7-11, 12-10.

Hao Shaui progressed to quarter final stage as he defeated Timo Boll to face another top European player, Vladimir Samsonov. In the previous round Samsonov defeated Kenta Matsudaira in five sets with scores 10-12,11-6,12-10,11-8,11-6.

China's Hao Shuai was not included in the Men's Team for the World Team Championships earlier this year, or the most recent London 2012 Olympic Games however the 28 year old has showed his continued impressive form as he defeated Vladimir Samsonov in the quarter finals of the China Open! Hao once again upsetting the rankings and defeated no.7 seed Samsonov in five sets 11-4, 11-7, 11-8, 8-11, 11-6.

Quarter Final Stages

- Hao Shuai defeated Vladimir Samsonov in five sets with scores 11-4, 11-7, 11-8, 8-11, 11-6

- Wang Liqin defeated Chen Chien-An in four straight sets with scores: 11-9, 11-5, 11-8, 11-7

- Xu Xin defeated Dimitrij Ovtcharov in five sets with scores 11-8, 11-6, 6-11, 11-2, 11-3

- Ma Lin defeated Machi Asuka in five sets 11-8, 11-4, 11-3, 5-11, 11-9
