Just watched LSW got beaten by He zhuojia. HZJ’s spinning, off-pace shots, her ungodly feel and reaction time just frustrated LSW the whole match. I’m a fan of HZJ now. Her unconventional style is much more relatable to us mortals than any other top players. Go zhuojia go!

I think that Short Pips (the way she was able to use it) on her backhand has also great contribution to her success.

To me it looked more like medium pips? Due to the “dampening effect” of many of her shots?

She changed from short pimple to semi-long pimple for her backhand, in order to imitate Fukuhara Ai. She had stayed in Chinese B team until November last year, when she managed to go into A team.

I think the semi-long pimple made her winning over LSW. LSW had trouble reading the spin of which HZJ returned using BH.
