This is the best world tour in a while for me. There are no top Chinese players that are too good for the rest, that makes the matches so close and full of surprises.
I haven't watched all the matches but the two MS semi are awesome, especially Yoshimura vs LJH. Ito vs WMY is great as well.
Who would have thought Kazuhiro Yoshimura and Cho Seungmin would be in the MS final?

ITO vs WANG was a great match.
ITO's style is really unique at the moment. a bit inspired from Ai-chan but more agressive. She has so many variations and creates wide angles ! I think her BH is the best in the world. Even though she lost, she looked in control of 2/3 of the points, but she missed a lot of finish shots.

The result is a bit disappointing but it would not have been a surprise or a shocking result if she had won, given how she's playing. I believe now she is a serious candidate for victory in the next big events. Especially if she can fix her FH a bit.

Had to cut out K. Yoshimura's interview due to claim by TV Tokyo.

Her style is high risk high reward. It will not be a surprise if she wins but she will not win as much as someone with a more stable and better style. Maybe I am wrong and I need to see more, but there is still more for me to see before I can be convinced that her level is stable. Even when Wang Manyu was struggling, you knew who she was. When Ito was doing well, I kept asking how much risk can she keep taking.

BTW, WCT and HKK commentated for the men's singles final and WCT bet on Cho Seungmin. WCT also admitted that Maharu Yoshimura's serve was tricky to handle.

As for Ito, beating a core CNT member at the major is nothing to sneeze at. I've been waiting Ishikawa to do the same for nearly a decade, uh well, I've given up, 90%.

Wow, this new generation of CNT women... they play incredible and they are entertaining. I remember WMY from previous events, but she certainly didn't disappoint.

They actually play more "like men" (in the past years only Ding Ning played like that -only much slower, but she's got experience and maybe she's better at forcing mistakes or whatever, I don't know-; and Zhang Yining maybe). Don't know who came up with this theory that women can't play that way and had to be machine-gunning metronomes at the table, but I am glad to see some change here.

On the other hand it's scary for the rest of the world. Well, Mima Ito did play at a very high level again, maybe she ran a little bit out of stamina/focus when she could have sealed the deal.
