I was 10-0 down against Micheal Marsden (highish ranked UK player) at a GP then I hit one of the best back hands I've ever played straight down the line off his serve, he didn't even move. He was not impressed........

haha he must of been annoyed

I try to lose a point and not make it obvious I am doing it on purpose.

If i were winning 10-0 i would give him high balls and entertain myself by receiving smashes

When I'm winning 10-0 I try to let the opponent win the point by himself, that means that I dont use my best strokes and sometimes lob, because I think it's fun.

No rule but considered as taboo among players. I also don't like to crush someone that badly. You need to be careful for your opponent's dignity.

No I don't give a point. I try to win it like any other and if it ends 11-0 I don't make a deal out of it and we continue playing. If it is friendly playing I don't usually let it get to 10-0 in the first place. If its just friendly play and you end up 10-0, that is probably a good sign to back off a bit.

edit - And with regards to dignity I wouldn't feel disrespected at all if I lost 11-0, which happens occasionally anyway, especially if you are playing against people way better. If fact I feel better the worse I lose against someone way better (capable of 11-0 in the first place) because then I know they are giving me a serious game which is all I want from playing someone out of my league. If they tone it down, even for one point it kind of defeats the purpose, especially since these kinds of games are a rare find for me I want to savor every point.

I would never give a point away ever. I have had a tournament match where I was ahead 10-0 and my opponent scored 11 straight points to win. I am all for good sportmanship but it ain't over till it's over. Perhaps at the world level that would be appropriate since the skill level and knowledge of the opponent is far greater than mine.

Haha, I've never thought of that actually. But good point! :) When I've played tournaments I've met some people and won 10 - 0 in a set. But when i got that lead by 10 - 0 i usually kill the ball down the opponent's side :)
I actually feel a little bad now after reading this thread. You should at least give your opponent one point! :)

It depends on who my opponent is.

Samsonov misses a serve for Kim Taek Soo in this match at 10-0 up... and the best part? Kim CHOOOS afterwards. They then proceed to play an exhibition point in the middle of the match.

I feel kind of bad for Vladi after winning 11-1 and playing an exhibition point, then losing the match.

In my country it would probably be okay to beat someone 11-0. Just don't yell CHO!! or be obnoxious especially when you have a lead like that.

I feel bad either way, full pwnage or lose. My mental coach said I have no killer instinct strong enough to make a statement..
With this new paddle I put together today, both tacky and fast, I got a pretty good run against some old friends at the club
Won 3-1 against a guy just beat me last week 3-0. I suppose to feel accomplishment or some emotion, but I just feel bad for him with my change of style
and speed and loops. What do I do ? this is one way street, there's no draw or stalemate only win and lose, and I don't like it
