4 out of 5 rating for Milky Way Pluto

Very fast for smashing/hitting, could load up quite heavy under spin on chops and serves, and the rubber also have quite a nice sink and wobble effects. Very good attack and defend rubber for short-medium pips out. The other popular/classic short pips I tried were too vanilla for defending and the opponent could more easily return/attack, but not with Pluto.

Very durable, combined with the cheap price is a great bargain.

The one with sponge is quite bouncy, better for attacking. Using thinner sponge, such as 1 mm would make this a much better all round defend and attack rubber. Didn't try the OX version.

I went from 651 2.2mm to trying a thinner short pips to work on my technique and consistency. I am using an old DHS PF4-032 Cpen from the 1970's. I like this short pips. It took me some hits to get used to the low trajectory of this pips. You really have to hit through and forward for an amazing flat drive. The low trajectory is really a pain for your opponent, and somewhat for yourself if you're used to spinnier more modern pips. However, this is where it shines as well. You really have to fine tune your drives and smashes for Pluto to really work. Once you're in the zone, your opponent is in trouble.

Amazingly, I am able to spin pretty well on serves and brushed LP style blocks. I think what is amazing about this rubber is that blocking hard smashes the sponge really kicks in and it's lethal side comes out. Switching back and forth to another old PF4 using 2.0 Dragonow and back to Pluto I found out that training on Pluto has helped me play with faster SP's.

I can't wait the day I switch back to 651 2.2mm and see how much my training as improved. The price is really inexpensive so give it a try!
