Genuine question, is there a more boring commentator at the Olympics, in any sport, than Don Parker?! He should be doing sleep stories, not commentating on the biggest tournament in our sport. Especially when we’ve probably got a much wider exposure in the western world to non-tt people! I might actually have to watch this match on mute. #RantOver 😂

This would not be happening if they used Linux. :sneaky:

Goda dropped the first 2 games in deuce to Eerland after leading for most of the time. Meltdown imminent.

Gonna be some serious atmosphere in here for this Pavade match. I've missed this...

Ionescu beat Aruna in Champions League too from 0:2* . I told my friend WHO bets that Ionescu will win no matter what.
*Ionescu hurt him so bad so Aruna's scars will open again.

Is it worth getting Peacock? How are the games for table tennis listed? Like singles matches? Are they highlights or full matches?

If you want to watch TT at the Olympics in the USA, you will need an app of some sort unless a VPN works for another country that provides streaming access to all the tables.

The coverage is by camera to time slots from the world feed. Since there are often many matches being played simultaneously, they are streamed together with the screen divided to show each match (up to 4). So you may need to cast to a large TV screen for the best experience in the early rounds but that will change as it goes to one match at a time during the prime elimination stages. Everything is full matches. You will need to find the time and screen of the match but the replays are all available.

You can get coverage at $9 per month (including tax) or $15 per month, the latter not showing you any ads and eas my preference. Usually Olympics are great if you love a lot of sports events so I would do this for the month of the Olympics and cancel after. But you get more value the earlier you do it. Since our sport is fringe, you aren't going to confidently watch any final or bronze medal match unless you have streaming. But I am also at an age and a point in life that $15 for a lot of sports for 1 month is nothing. Everyone is different.

Pretty sure it wasn't from 0-2, but your tone is trolling so I will just ignore it going forward.

Wasn't able to catch the games but Hayata and Harimoto losing first round is to the North Korean pair is crazy! Zeio mentioned that we should expect upsets but I didn't expect this.... I hope they can recover for singles and teams as I want to see them do well. Is there any chance to see NK athletes in WTT anytime soon? I don't know the politics

NextLevel pretty much covered everything. Ideally, would have been nicer to have it like tennis where each court is streamed separately. In the 4 in 1 setup, it would have been nice to at least be able to select the audio from an individual table rather than a random featured table. And even when a featured match is over, they don't even switch the audio to another table :(. Streaming quality is very good at 1080p. I watch on large screen TV with a Peacock app on Roku and use the TV's zoom feature to zoom in on an individual match. Looks like the XD SF matches have individual timeslots, and Singles starting from the QF have their own time slots for individual matches so we should a single match on a full screen during those latter stages.

Is it worth it? For me, it's a no brainer. Pay Per View for a single live event costs way more. This is the entire once every 4 year Olympics that includes table tennis and whatever other Olympic sports you may be interested in. Plus there may be some Peacock originals that might be worthwhile to watch before the month is over. Would have loved for it to be free on Youtube, but it is what it is.

In teams they will be fine. Even in singles. In XD, the problem is the lack of exposure of North Korea combined with the style of North Korean lady. North Korea has been doing this forever though.

Woah this WS between Lebanon and Chile feels like my local table tennis club. 46 year old vs 58 year old!
Reminds me of the days before the time limit with the 38mm ball. There used to be a lot more defenders, especially for women, and matches between female defenders would last forever because they typically involves like 50 pushes back and forth before someone attacks or makes a mistake for every single point.
