She is too slow for Hirano, she is worse in rally than injured Hayata, Miwa? Maybe a close match but when you are in form, you dont worry about nobody and she is in her best form. Mental shape matters.

Very impressed with 18 yo Kaufmann. She's learning on the job at the moment and learning quickly! Pressure seems not to be an issue and she's constructing some great points. Higher level opposition restrict what you can do of course but for her age she's looking like a star in the making.
Yes,
I am impressed too
4 out of 4. 100% record, in high pressure, high stake and high quality opponent matches.
Something is clearly going on here, her serves don't look hidden or illegal but her third ball patterns seem to be giving people fits. Trying to watch the replays and see what is going on, I know she is a good talent but I didn't think that she would be 3-0 vs Lily Zhang or making Manika and Akula look like basic players. She will get Harimoto which will be a different battle but still, this is crazy impressive.

I agree on these 3 heavy weights
young and inexperience taking out the 3, give this prediction 2 days ago, everyone will think we are drunk.

The element of surprise is gone. Japan will have more time to study footage and prep who ever takes her on.
Japan is just the next level (no, not talking about you being a Japanese)

I agree the Japanese level is too high. They will definitely attack and return her serves better. But I wouldn't be surprised if something throws off her opponent, I mean it is not like Harimoto or Hirano are completely beyond mistakes. Definitely will try to watch the match

and many high level athletes are never the same since injury caused surgery.
When I said "a lot more help with recovery" I was referring to the fact that most are using the latest designer PEDs.

Most people don't realize that PEDs are used primarily by athletes for recovery from injury and to squeeze in more training volume.

In countries like Russia with state sponsored doping programs, a talent like LYJ would probably be forced to partake (whether he is aware of it or not).

Not saying that he should, just bringing up a sad reality.

Oh... I went back to see your post and my post.
I could not have picked up you are talking about performance enhancing drugs.... why would you think I would know you are talking about PEDs as "resources", i'm not russian or igor :p

What I read about help with recovery was, rest time is what many other athletes get.
but with WTT scheduling and with OG seeding, LYJ could not rest between June of last year to May of this year.

and hopefully surgery is still not needed at this stage.
and once you get surgery, there is no confirmation that one would play the same after recovery
Wrist injury is very complicated and could even force LYJ to change his style.

resource needed? rest more and recover properly.

and thinking about it, when last have you seen a bunch of 21 year old kids holding so much serious injuries and continue to play.

Shinozuka is actually the key of the pair here. His "correction ability", which was praised by Mizutani, came into play again in late G1. His touch and placement in the short game, especially when receiving (he hits where it hurts the most), complements Togami's damage output really well, even better than Uda and Matsushima.

around 3rd and 4th game his shot quality improved and it got smoother for the JPN pair, but still his shot mostly works as transition to Togami heavy blows

JPN's Judo management is in the stand.

Harimoto led most of the time for the entire match other than late G2 and G4. Moregard was taken apart with surgical precision despite the close scores. His tricks got shut down even harder than in his final match against FZD.

Wonder when Felix stopped yelling "OKAY!" as a point celebration. That was always one of my favorites and he was the only one who did it.

My absolute favorite is still Jang Woo Jin's "Charlie, come on!"
Who is “Charlie” lol unless he meant “Cho le” lol

Hari-boy wins the battle od the Fan battlers and almost guarantees his team a medal. Togami can close it out against an dangerous Karlsspn but if not, then Truls gets a Shinozuka revenge march and Harimoto plays Kallberg. None of those are good or easy pairings for Japan so this is a critical match.
