If Germany can miraculously win the doubles, the bronze medal window has expanded significantly.
I can't believe they've forced a decider. Footwork is a mess but I feel like Yuan and Shan are finally playing out the advantage of their pips.

Truls beat Jorgic and Franziska in Champions League play in April. I remember him beating Pitchford before losing badly to WCQ at a tour event recently so it would be interesting to know what event you have in mind

Here is where Truls completely blacked-out. A thoroughly bizarre match.

Wan Yuan and SXN have figured out a way to get SYB/JJH to sweat with parallel shots to their middle to push them away from the table and then pin SYB down to her BH corner/move JJH to her wide FH corner with diagonal shots.

A close shave for the KOR pair. The GER pair missed 2 crucial points in the endgame of G5.

How would you know that they would've preferred SYS though?
A lot of the brouhaha about CM connections were from netizens on the net, and you just bought into it. Just like that. I'm sure you don't buy into what 5ch folks say when Zero posts it. Chinese netizens claim the most ridiculous thing. The latest unhinged rumor is that Chen Meng sleeps with Ma Lin. Do you believe that too?
If true, that rumor would explain WCQ's R32 exit. WCQ and CM are said to have been going out for a while...

Only Wan Yuan can make Gozo like pips.
German girls are making this competitive by bringing their forehand smashes out. Wan even fell to the ground to commit to a smash to take the 3rd game.

Coincidence? The truth is out there....

Hmm, he has a history of crashing out early in the past.

WCQ and LGY left behind the worst results for China in 39 years at Asian Cup 2022 in Nov, with the former having come off 2 titles at WTT CS Macao 2022 and WTT CF Xinxiang 2022 a little over 2 weeks earlier. Same thing for WTT SCT ESS 2022 in Jul where he won and then he crashed out of WTT CS ESS 2022 the next week.

For MT, WCQ has lost to multiple players from 3 of the 4 potential QFinalists - LJH and JWJ of KOR (5), LYJ of TPE (6) (almost lost to Kao Cheng-Jui in MT of ATTC 2023), Karlsson and Moregard of SWE (7), POR (8), so the draw really didn't matter, which would have been tough for him anyway.

With all that I made that post about him back in Apr when many people were pretty confident he was going to win in Paris 2024.
the next OLP cycle might be the best. China's talent pool has shrunk significantly, in the 1st team Fan, Wang will definitely become two main pillars, ML, LGY and LJK are entering the last leg of their career and might retire during this cycle. Lin SD seems to be most promising amongst the next generation, then Xiang Peng, but both of them don't have enough wit and stability yet. Yuan Licen, Xu Yingbin,... feel like lost causes.

France and Sweden can rest assured as their top guns can served another Olympics w/o any problems. Korea still have Lim, Cho DS, An JH in case Jang Woojin steps down, Taiwan might still have to rely all on Lin YJ but their next gens are growing well in Youth WTT competitions. Japan fails to get results with the first batch of generational change but I hope for more growth in their main force in this cycle, Hari, Togami and Sora might be the next 3 for LA. In any cases, foreign associations will catch up to the Chinese even quicker during this cycle

Anette's quick drive isn't working but her slow spinny loop is giving KOR some trouble. More spin, less speed, disrupt the KOR lady's rhythm. KOR lady is close to table rapid counter-drive style, so more spin will disrupt her rhythm.

Lee Eun-Hye/李恩惠 (original name 赵青): I beat Ishikawa 4-0 at Hong Kong Open 2018. You're just another Ishikawa to me, Kaufmann!
Harimoto: I'm also ethnic Chinese, why the difference? T_T
Lee Eun-Hye: I was born in China!
