Good grief Dan, this is worst than Mike Tyson's fights....I didn't even managed to go into the chat room. Bummer...

Always another time :).. Some big tournaments coming up so stay tuned. Yes it was destruction! Ma Long didn't drop a set all tournament!

I just saw the Semis for WLQ and WH I was rather upset that He didn't close it out like he should have. I think it would have been a different story if it was Ma Long vs WLQ I just felt like he was on par this tournament, but as soon as he lost the 4 match points he kind of gave up.

Hehee, noticed?
As far as I know, MA LONG DIDNT LOSE EVEN A SINGLE SET IN WHOLE TOURNAMENT!!!

Really? I didn't bother to check. That is pretty sick.... I mean in tennis where each set can be grueling, its much easier to see someone not losing a single set to win the tourney, but in table tennis, its a lot harder to do. Pretty impressive Ma Long did that, especially blanking Wang Hao at the end.

I'm fairly sure that WH was pretty tired and anxious after his semi with WLQ. I mean he was down 1-3 in the 5th and saved 3 match points in the 6th. Then finally took it in the 7th. That's gotta be nerve wracking.

Plus you gotta wonder if he's all like:
Crap why'd this kid have to switch to Skyline 3. I'm supposed to be the Skyline 3 guy.

Better click these gold shoes for luck, cuz it's gonna be a tough match.

Then after first point:

Yup gonna be tough.

WH didn't look much like he was expecting to win the final indeed. But still there were some great points. It is suprising though how low the level of Ma Long's half of the schedule was after the defeat of Ma Lin compared to Wang Hao's (Yan An/WLQ/Muzitani vs. Kishikawa/Skachkov/Takikawa?)

Yeah I agree. He did have an easy ride, but regardless it's the luck of the draw. WH had some much harder opponents than WLQ in the Semis. Kishikawa had some easy opponents up to the semi's as well. WH just had the hard ride up to the finals. Which probably has a lot to do with his lack of energy in the match. I mean just watching his entrance into the match I could tell he was a bit anxious. He was breathing heavily and biting his lower lip a bit.

It would have been great to see if WLQ could have taken him in the Finals though. I felt that of the 4 players those two had the easiest trip to the semis and if WLQ had won against WH I think he would have had that fire burning again to win a majors.

That would have been awesome indeed, to see the old master rise up against his teammates :D Gotta give it to Ma Long though, even though WH was the only one on the road that could possibly be a threat to him, he has had his momentum for a good 2 months now, I wonder if he actually lost a single match in this period. This might be TT History what the man is doing at the moment.

Come on. Wang Liqin went a whole year without losing a match.

Which year it was man? :)

I am going to have to look it up. It was either somewhere between 2000-2002 when he went 25 consecutive weeks ranked as #1 (2nd longest ever) or between the 2005 and 2007 World Championships that he won.
