The press were in an optimistic mood at yesterday's press conference for the World Team Table Tennis Championships as Timo Boll was missing from the German National team line up. In the press conference the German team included Patrick Baum, Dimitrij Ovtcharov, Bastian Steger and Christian Süss as they all attended alongside German national team coach Jörg Rosskopf.

Two days before the World Team Championships begin, the German National men's and women's team presented themselves to the journalists. However Timo Boll's seat was left empty to the amazement of the journalists.

The German number 1, skipped the conference as he felt sick in the mornings training session. He used the rest of the day to recover. In an interview by sports director of the German Table Tennis Association as cited by the ittf.com expressed, "We are confident that Timo will play this Sunday".

In the press conference Dimitrij Ovtcharov, Bastian Steger, Christian Süss and Patrick Baum confidently announced that they want to make the final with Rosskopt describing his team as the best German team ever.

The Men's National team coach Jörg Roßkopf announced his concerns with Boll and said he may have to be on the bench for this sunday's match against Spain. "I hope Boll will be okay as he in a fantastic shape" said Jorg.

If all goes to plan for Germany and China, they will face one another in the World Team finals in Dortmund, Germany. Who would you like to see in the final?
