New TB ALC is very very similar to TBS. The handle shape is a little different, especially for the straight ones, and some people think the newer version is just a touch harder and faster. I'm not convinced that is true. I think the variation within each type is about equal to the variation between each type. They are that similar.

TBS is a great paddle, and it goes really well for me with Donic Acuda S1 FH 2.0 & Acuda S3 2.0 BH and Tenergy 05. I will do more research if I were you because I rather spend more money to buy a right blade instead of several blades that did not work out for myself. Therefore, if you can borrow one from other players and test it out, it would be great.

TBS is one of the greatest if not the greatest paddle of Butterfly production line. It is very linear and has just right speed and power for allround offensive game. However, there are cheaper alternatives, such as Galaxy K4 and Dawei GTO etc.

Looks like Galaxy upgraded their K4 blade with V14 blade which is also not that pricey.

I switched over from the TG7-AS to the TBS, and I can say that it is worthwhile. The TG7 was getting a little bit too slow for me, however when I switched over I kept overshooting the ball o_O, I guess it will take a little bit of getting used to. But I can say that the speed, control, and feel is phenomenal. The only down side is that the top layer is really soft, so you are going to be careful when you are gluing.

Make sure the glue is completely dry. I have glued and removed the rubbers many times and no damage has happened.

Yeap, the glue was completely dry. If my blade is the only one splintering I guess it must be the rubber cement.

I heard the Michael Maze blade from Butterfly is very similar to the TBS. Is it true?

yes, they are similar, TBS is substantially faster and a little harder. Viscaria is more like TBS in terms of speed, but is also just a little softer.

The Kong Linghui Special is also quite similar, as was the old Keyshot.

TBS is perfect for you and for beginners in general who make a long term commitment to the sport and are willing to buy a racket of that quality. It is great because it can service a wide range of play styles. Its slow for the spin and smash types, and fast for the allround game but everything in between and most of the styles people would call 'offensive' can be pulled off with this blade.

Well I didn't rip it off... I just peeled it off normally. I guess I'll try to peel it off as slow as possible next time.
Or it can be that I applied Rubber cement to both the blade and the rubber.

Honestly I think it's too fast for a beginner. Beginners with no coaching will probably try to smash all the balls XD

TBS is the a very fine blade for many intermediate to advanced players needing reserve power for hitting and looping close, mid and occasionally away from table. Along with the BTY Primorac is their best seller. The carbon/Arlyate composition provides for large sweet spot and provides a distinct feel for looping. Works great with Tenergys, Yasaka Xtend HS, Gambler Outlaw, BTY Sriver G3. There would be holy hell to pay if BTY stopped production of the TBS.

NOT TRUE! Michael Maze is usually faster than the TBS, unless you've got a weird set. Viscaria is also faster, but just slightly. The Maze is slightly harder as well, but just slightly. The maze is faster than the TBS and the Viscaria, but has got almost the same feel as the TBS.
